This all came down to the tires on the GT. Did anyone look? 235's. If you looked at the trap speed you can pretty much bet the farm that GT is trapping 10mph higher.

I saw the 18"s and thought stock all seasons = no traction. oh well

Are you telling me all those Hondas with large wings, yellow lights, 15" rims, and a large maxwell house coffee can filled with a 10,000 angry bees never get told nice car!? Even with VTEC!?!?

I've had a V6 accord, and several of my co-workers have the V6 accord coupe. While compared to everyday sedans/coupes, they are fast, but not compared to any of the S550s.

It's 20 year old SOHC engine with 270HP in a midsize car. They run 15's.

Not to mention anyone that drag races a Honda is "special" to put it nicely.

I was invited -- and accepted -- to drive my car in a parade... it was when the new accord coupe came out in 98... no one had ever seen it before.

I got plenty of "wow nice Honda" for maybe a year... then there were millions of them on the road. Same with my Mustang last year... many people had never seen one, much less a convertible.

To the OP, of course a Honda can beat a Mustang... no biggie there. With enough money I can get my lawn mower to beat a Mustang. Anything can be made to go fast with the right budget.

I was certain that FordTechOne made an error, that Honda V6 is a DOHC engine, but he is correct. According to Honda website:

•278-hp (SAE Net), 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine

whopping 251 lb ft of torque

yeah, I am sure that "stomped" a 5.0 :faint:

better race would have been Mustang v6

The Accord V6 is still a nice machine, but it is expensive:

you are right, just watched it once. But the Mustang did win so I was right that "Or the camera angle is so skewed that you cannot tell that the Mustang actually won."
