After months and months of research and learning, I've got all my stuff, all my knowledge, and my home alignment rack built. Left looking for one more piece of the puzzle. I thought I'd start a new thread to focus solely on what we do to get the car to settle easy and more importantly, free wheel turning/movement.

Here's my initial idea...the wheel chock is sitting on a slick floor tile with the garbage bag between the tile and the chock. It's pretty slick, and it slides more than easily enough to let the suspension fully settle. But it does not let the wheels turn as easily as I had expected. It's only slightly easier (relatively speaking) when compared to turning the wheels with the car on the normal ground on my flooring.

Any better ideas for under these chocks to loosen up the steering? Or, just how loose does it really need to be to get successful toe adjustments?

Of note, I did test/try no chocks, tires directly on trash bag, on top of the tile. That was super easy to turn the wheel.

Build yourself some wood blocks, then put the garbage bag on top of the stack of wood blocks, between the wood and the tire. That is how I do it, and it works really well. Something like this, but run a 2x4 in the middle on the top cribbing that way your tire has a flat surface. FWIW, I usually only going 3 cribs high, I stole this image form youtube.

I've heard of people using two linoleum tiles with grease between them between the front tires and floor (or between wheel chocks and floor in your case).

Your floor has to be absolutely level with this setup, though. You'll also need to shim the rear wheels by the same amount to keep the car level.
