Can someone tell me what is leaking? Fluisd seemed clear though, but it's not water because there is a small puddle after a few days (if water it would have evaporated in the Arizona climate). I haven't driven for 4 or 5 days. I just drove it around the block now and put a plate under it to make sure the fluid isn't colored... Will post that soon.

Car is a 2015 Mustang GT Premium with performance pack, 6MT.....

Thanks!

Is the brake fluid reservoir low?

If the leak is between the trans bell housing and the trans block plate as seen in the above image, that is usually indicative of a rear main seal leak.

HOWEVER, before you panic and worry about the expensive shop cost to R&R it….

The 2015-2017 S550 GT’s were known to have valve cover leaks because the early valve covers did not have all securing bolts provisioned. Check the valve covers for seepage/leaking first.

These docs should help with valve cover R&R.

Also check the oil pressure sensor that is located on that side of the engine block. This is a common source of oil seepage/leaks on the Coyote 5.0.

If the sensor is not properly tightened it eventually vibes loose and will leak…. If it’s let go, it’s going to leak a lot more… which is not good.

To remedy, remove it from the engine, throughly clean the sensor threads and the area above and below on engine block using any carb/efi/brake cleaner product. Wipe all areas dry. Put Teflon tape on sensor threads OR use a good sealant that is oil resistant on the threads, reinsert sensor to engine block and tighten it just a little beyond hand tight, so it is not loose. Do not over tighten or you can damage the block threads OR break the sensor off…. Start car, monitor for leaks, if dry then it’s sealed.

If the valve covers and sensor check out to not be leaking…. Then RMS is the source and to repair the trans has to be dropped. It can be done as a DIY at home if you have the ability, tools and time.

If it is the valve cover or sensor, what fluid would be leaking... Just oil? The leak/drip fluid seems clear.

Again, is the brake fluid reservoir low?

I checked the brake fluid and while it's not at the max level it is still above the min. I don't remember how full it was and I honestly never checked it although the dealer would have said sometime (I hope) when I had the oil changed last May/June.

Would a brake fluid leak drip in the area where I showed?

I suppose the fluid I collected would be the color of the Dot4 oil?

The brake and clutch system share the reservoir

1- the master is leaking, and fluid is running down the plastic line that connects to the slave
2- the plastic line itself is leaking
3- the slave cylinder/throw out bearing is leaking

Did you just change your oil? Hop in, pump the clutch a bunch, then check the brake fluid reservoir and the floor again.

It does *look* like brake/clutch fluid.

#3 gets my vote.

What does the fluid feel like? Does it have an odor? Most fluids in a car have a distinct feel and smell.

Just drove car out to get the car on a lift... Nothing I could see that was obvious leaking other than the front of that transmission housing in my pics. So I convinced myself it was the transmission but it's so tight in space I couldn't see over the transmission.

I left to get gas and after filling, my clutch isn't coming back up.... What does that say? Brake reservoir has fluid (at least when I checked yesterday). Would slave cylinder cause the clutch pedal not to come back?

I'm stranded now and debating if I should tow to the dealer to fix.
