Hey Guys,

I picked up my 2017 GT350 brand new back in April from a tiny town outside of San Antonio and since have put around 4K miles on it.

Ive noticed a strange issue twice now that makes the car feel like its down down on power.
It seems to have 100HP for about 3 seconds before a switch is flipped and it feels normal again.

Today I figured out how to replicate it 50% of the time.
Can you guys see if your car does this as well or am I having a one off issue.

Either sport or regular mode (doesn't seem to matter).
Traction control on or off (doesnt seem to matter).
Cruise in 2nd gear around 3000-3250 RPM for at least 3 seconds and then floor it.

50% of the time the exhaust screams but the car doesn't really move as it normally does until it hits about 4250 RPM or so. The other 50% of the time it breaks the rear end loose with gobs of power.

Its almost like the variable valve timing is confused whether to activate or not.

3250 is well before the power curve. My car wont break loose at that RPM.

You using good gas? Could it be engine pulling timing?

4200 miles.

Yes I agree it sounds like TC but it does it still does it with TC off.

Can someone give it a dozen attempts in their car?

Try it with all the nannies off - not just the toggle for TC (hold it for like 10secs or whatever the wait time is)

Have you made any changes to the as-built configuration by any chance? (Using the FORScan app with a OBDII adapter.)

I had a problem similar to this after I changed the tire size setting to get my speedo showing the correct speed.

For whatever reason, it was confusing the ABS/TC system so the car was pulling power. Once I changed the as-built data back to a factory tire size, the issue went away.
