I just got a check engine light a p1450. My mods are below I’m running E85. My RTD device says it’s fuel related. I test my E85 per fill up.
What caused this and how do I fix it?

Most likely the purge valve. Clear the code and see if it comes back; it may take some driving around to clear on its own. If it does, replace the purge valve per the thread/videos. Should be easy fix and less than $45. Pretty sure the part is at Autozone, etc. On other vehicles, I would say, "check your gas cap is tight". If this happened right after a gas station visit, might have just been a one-off incident.

Is the purge valve the same as an EGR valve ?

Ford has one for $73 and auto zone has one for $25. I did clear the code. Do you think it can be dangerous to continue to drive it?

The evap is for emissions and does not affect the engine performance or reliabilty.

If it was me, I would wait to see if the code comes back.

More info: https://www.justanswer.com/ford/co8dy-code-p1450-drive-it-p1450-unable-bleed.html

The Motorcraft part number is AU5Z-9C915-{X}, with {X} being the revision letter. Autozone, Advanced Autoparts, etc would be able to tell you if there's a Duralast or other non-oem replacement that would work.

RockAuto seems to list some of the other brand variants: https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/ford,9U5Z9C915H,vapor+canister+purge+valve+/+solenoid,4936

$16.99 here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/305056447054

Thread revival.

Did you guys get it worked out? I have a similar permanent code causing a smog failure. I changed the purge control valve a while back and cleared the code but apparently it’s still there.

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have all the vacuum lines connected correctly?
