Any update? It's been a while!
Yeah your right, I have tried to stay off the forum, maybe too much negative feedback from myself(lol) but talked with them today and I know that we have replaced the vct sensors and check to see if it fixes the problem with the codes and misfiring. These guys have really been backed up at their shop and thats why its taking so long. I know they said that oil may not be getting to the left side of the engine. They said the engine looks fine and opg gears looked good. FORD seems to have a oil issue in some of these cars, proving that on a modified car under warranty may be a problem.I changed it at 3k to 5w/20 full synthetic. Only oil changed its had, only 7k miles in well over a year. Car babied. Car was not showing oil pressure issues. These guys build coyote engines and are dedicated mustang shop, unfortunately as we all know ppl like to modify their stangs so they stay busy. I will post again once I get it back.....hopefully next week.:)

Ford openly upgraded damper, OPG, and timing gear

Were you running stock crank damper?

The stock cars just aren't generating the number of busted OPG or timing gears youd expect if Ford botched the design. Keeping in mind the durability testing Ford did on the 16 Super Cobra Jet motors and they went with an ATI damper tuned for the 5.0 with a Whipple. Think they changed OPG and crank gear too.

Hard to expect the same durability as the SCJ which we are approaching in HP levels without spending the money.
If you get the motor repaired, consider at least a damper and possibly OPG and TG too. Yea its another grand, but cheaper than being out a $40,000 car.

Finally picked my car up. It is still kind of a mystery as to what happened. I will tell you the parts that were replaced. Cam sprockets, valve cover gaskets, VCT selinoid. Was noted that a lot of oil was not where it was suppose to be. Car runs great, no more codes!. I had them dyno it again since I installed the smaller pulley and new Whipple tune.

Good to hear it wasn't anything major. I'm sure it feels great to have her back on the road again.

Strong numbers... 3.625" pulley?

Man those are some powerful numbers, I would be proud. What gas and did you have octane adjust on or off? So it sounds like the VCT soleniod was the culprit, I'm suprised you didn't get specific codes faulting the VCT.
