I agree with everything posted here I just put together a built motor car with the hellion street sleeper kit that has the 62mm cast ball bearing turbos. Car made great power and the kit quality is super nice, (1156 wheel on 18 lbs) but i would not recommend the street sleeper kit at least for a daily. The oil tank under the car hangs down so low its impossible not to scrape it on everything, it adds a liability under the car. Stock ride height maybe, but lowered you have to really be careful. The car I put together has only been driven 1k miles and already has scraped one of the fittings loose on the oil tank underneath which caused a nasty oil leak. Be careful dd ing this kit lol.

Sounds like a plan! Regarding the 55s, is it worth the extra $1,300 (on top of the $999) to go with BB? Or will the journal bearing 55s be good enough for me?
Yes sir, I would go with the BB setup honestly. They last longer hands down.

Just to give people the difference between the two kits and Journal to BB setups, My top mount kit with 62mm journal bearing turbos made 1040whp at 15lbs of boost. Your setup is WAY more efficient than mine unfortunately lol.

Yeah this car im talking about is a 2018 built motor A10 car, 10 lbs made 850 wheel, 14 lbs made 980 wheel and 18 made 1156. The sleeper kit makes some impressive power.

Hello.

We originally designed the sleeper kit on a stock ride height vehicle. The tank height and placement was taken into consideration as we would not build one to have a clearance problem. The tank is in line with the body pinch weld and splash guard/front scrape guard. Lowered cars, in general have scraping problems even with stock exhaust etc, due to the close clearance to the ground. We have recommended to simply drill the mounting holes on the tank brackets if more ground clearance is personally desired.

It is very important that we note that we designed this kit for 100% daily use and spent months in R and D to do so. We have never had a failure of our scavenge system or components due to ground clearance in normal operation and installation. We constantly install these kits for dealerships and customers and we always monitor ground clearance and overall durability. We send a lifetime warranty on our piping and components because we have so much confidence in its daily use.

If you have any questions please contact us at [email protected] or 505-873-4670.

Huh... I didn't realize it stuck down so far - that is a little disconcerting. I have seen a few pictures of it installed, but never a picture when the vehicle is on the ground.

The tank is in line with the body pinch weld and splash guard/front scrape guard.
Thank you for the additional information. Being an avid off-roader, I know that something sticking down in the middle of the vehicle is much more likely to be hit than something sticking down near the tire (ie the pinch weld). However, since I do offroad, my first thought would be to create a skid plate to better protect it. I might look into that...

obviously there's no cats so inherently it will smell more
Thank you for pointing this out. I knew this kit was not emission compliant, which isn't a problem for me. (however I though I read somewhere that completely removing cats are against federal law?) I've never been under the Mustang, but looking at images online I see the turbos take place of the cats. Which makes perfect sense - I wondered how there was enough space to fit the turbos up there! I wonder if a cat could be addd after the turbo and have the waste gate piped to it? That could eliminate both the sound as well as the smell.

This is good information! I ordered the street sleeper kit (15-17) a few weeks ago from Terry Reeves. I went with the PTE JB 62's, blackout kit, with loudvalve exhaust. I don't even have a car yet, getting all the go fast parts together first. I'll pick up a car in the spring. Can't wait!

Yes, those are the ones. I didn't think it was necessary for the BB.
Thanks for clarifying!

A couple follow up questions:

1. Flowmaster and Autosaver make a 3.0" universal catalytic converter. I wonder if something like that could that be placed between the turbos and the resonator? Looks like there should be space there.
2. Is it possible to route the waste gate back into the exhaust? (from the images, looks like there should be space)
3. Can someone post an picture of the front underside with the vehicle on the ground? I want to get an idea of how low both the oil scavenger as well as the air ducts on the sides are to the ground.

Thanks!

I have an incline up to my garage and im lowered 1" so I just kiss the undercarriage if I have a passenger in the car as I cross over the plane going into the garage. Does that mean my car would for sure hang up with a Hellion Low mount kit?

Does the Hellhorse kit have that cross over since they are oil-less?

Have you looked into the Limitless Performance and Fabrication twin turbo kit for S550's?
They offer the top Comp oilless turbos from the sizing of your choice from 60-67mm turbos at no extra cost.
The kit starts at $7250 and that'll come with the larger upgraded intercooler.
Only lines you have to run is T into the coolant line and run one line to each turbo and of course you lines for the wastegates. No oil lines, no tapping into the oil pan, and no questioning whether the turbos are getting oil

If I can help you anymore please feel free to PM me!

Hello. We can option high flow cats that will go behind the turbos for $250 total. As far a WG re-entry, it would be possible to custom fab if desired.

Hello.

No, we have all components at the level of the pinch weld and lower plastic. We have taken all conditions into consideration for clearance.

We even have tested all of our turbo options for clearance, even the Precision 68/70 units that are available.

The cat option is great to know about! I haven't see anything on anyone's website mentioning that option! (not even your own) How would I go about ordering it?

As for the WG re-entry, is that something you can do? Or would I need to find a local shop to do it for me?

One last question - I know a lot of people recommend turbo blankets for the top mount kit. Could they also be used on the sleeper kit to prevent heat from entering the cabin as well as protecting the transmission in stop and go traffic? I would imagine there is plenty of airflow while driving to keep things cool, but stopping immediately after a WOT pull at the next stoplight seems like things would get pretty hot under there.
