The previous owner of my WRX took the headlights apart using an oven like this. Now, several years later, the headlights have yellowed and tarnished on the inside of the lens and cannot be fixed. Due to my experience with that car I would never consider doing this to my Mustang.

Looks cool. When I saw the cost of a replacement headlight this mod was a "nope" for me.

Looks good brother! The black really does look better than the chrome, especially on your specific build. I for one would have liked to see that video with all the profanities. Just a thought ;)

Time will tell if this is the case. I've done this on three other previous cars with no issues. If they're sealed right it should be ok. But like I said, time will tell.

What are the exact products you used for the paint and sealant? Would you recommend them or were there any better products?

I used the back silicone in the diode video. Apparently windshield sealant may be better based on some comments. For paint I used black spat paint that was made for plastics. Got it at Home Depot, nothing special.

My Legacy GT headlights are yellowed and tarnished on the inside too -- but they have never been taken apart. Subaru just used crappy plastic.

To the OP, this looks awesome. They should have came like this from the factory

It looks like you painted over the amber lenses as well. Or am I wrong?
