Headlight Adjustment

So, since new, I noticed that my headlights were aimed a little too low from the factory. (same on my 2013 ST)
I did some searching and found no other answers except "it can't be done" when looking for ways to adjust.
So, I popped the hood and lo and behold, right on top of the rear of the headlight is an adjustment screw.

and it even has a handy hole for your screwdriver to reach it. 7mm Hex, or small Phillips.

Screw it clockwise to lower and counter to raise it.
no side to side adjustment just horizontal.

I have only recently started to drive mine ('17) in the dark (it gets dark around 10 pm in the summer here) and noticed the same issue. Need to tip them up just a tad. Thanks for the tip.

Suggestion - aiming the passenger side headlight just a little higher than the driver side headlight can reduce or eliminate any darker regions by making the two headlights cast the dimmer regions of their patterns into different places.

Put the passenger side low beam cutoff exactly horizontal or only a tiny bit lower, and the driver side cutoff an inch or so lower than horizontal at 15 - 20 feet and you shouldn't have any issues with throwing too much light up at oncoming drivers.

On reasonably flat pavement, shine your lights at a wall and slowly back the car up. If the cutoff to one of the patterns drops only a little as you back up, that headlight is aimed slightly down. No drop = horizontal. Been aiming headlights like this since getting my first set of H4 conversion headlights 40+ years ago.

If anything the lights on 2016 are on the high side. I get drivers flicking their brights at me on a daily basis. Probably should go back to a dealer for adjustment but I haven't yet.

What was discussed in past threads was there is no way to adjust the headlights horizontally (as you mentioned), even though the owner's manual says there is an adjuster ... which there isn't.

Mine were fine from the factory but a bit off when I lowered the car a few months back. The headlights on my 2012 from the factory were comically low so I became familiar with the adjustment. There is also a vertical adjustment on the fog lights for anyone interested.
