The factory connect works with the Steeda H/X pipe. I had that setup for awhile. I just installed SP headers to my SW cat back and had to get the different H pipe and elbows for the performance connect. I went to Gesi 450 green cats. I ran the defoulers with the install, so will see if they are actually needed after some miles. Wont really know until you know. They are cheap, regardless. Trying to pass for readiness monitors for inspection. I purchased new ford header gaskets and hardware. Don't need to since can reuse the factory ones and the SP headers come with the hardware. Car is definitely louder across the board. Sounds mean AF. Is louder across the board. Cold starts my neighbors may hate me now. 0730 today and could feel the eyes on me lol. Can def feel the torque curve change to higher up in the rev range. The OEM headers had a deeper sound. FWIW
Keep an eye on your fuel trims. the defoulers throw the rear O2s off. The system uses them to re calibrate the fronts as they age. you might find the trims trending rich up to 10% or more. better off to get a tuners to shut the rears off. You emissions wont go ready. With the defoulers it may never go readready. the O2s and heaters wont set.

None of the commercial tuners will turn off the rear 02s. I have had 0 issues with fuel trims creeping.
Maybe it depends on the year. my 2021, the fuel trims went crazy no matter which extenders I used. I could feel the engine getting sluggish. And the 02/heaters would not go complete. Engineer Mike had found ththe same.

I've been chasing the readiness/emissions monitors for over a year now. Multiple tune revisions. Was told OEM cats were failing and that was why. Pulled them and installed headers and green cats and my stockers were perfect. So no idea what to do. Anyone ever get them to set after being tuned with aftermarket headers/cats? Really don't want to pull 12k+ in mods since car is where I want it with the build. But feel like I'm out of options. I have the defoulers in currently and now driving it again to see if they will set.

When I did headers and green cats on my 2013 Shelby GT500, I did nothing. It all worked. everything set within a few miles, no check engine lights.

I tried to swap out the stock cats for the Gen 2 Green cats on the stock manifolds on my 2021. It was a bit louder and ran great. problem was it tripped the cat efficiency code. so I tried the defoulers. Engineer Mike warned me about doing that and the FAOSC. How the trims might go crazy while having good Lamdas. Sure enough it got rid of the DTC, but the O2s and heaters would not set and the long term trims started going rich. turning off FAOSC stopped the trim problem but the emissions ready would never set. I tried every defouler out there. straight. mini catted, J with different pills. Nothing.

Something has changed in the calibration between 2013 and now. I think the only way to get around it is to go with S550 GT500 cats. good luck finding them used, new ones are a fortune and you still have to fab a ton to get them in.

Just spent 2k on cats since was told that was my issue. Not looking to do it again. May just trade for a stock car at this point. The juice isnt worth the squeeze. Ill run it and see if they set. Such a PIA lol

It isnt easy running this new stuff. unless you are willing to revert back to the old days and hopefully not run a foul of the smog police, its difficult when it comes to modifying the exhaust system other than a cat back.

The whole system is designed to protect the cats.

I put the stock stuff back on. we dont have smog testing in my area but they do have a comprehensive safety check system if you go to sell and one of the items on the list is emissions. all done on a tablet with big brother able to cut in if they dont like something.

If I keep the car until my own demise, I might consider putting headers on it and use the ultra expensive green cats I have frfrom my project last year and roll the dice on the smog police if I pop a cat. no sense putting the same junk back on.

How did you like the sound of the Steeda H/X pipe? Currently have a 3” H Pipe, and have been considering switching to the H/X.

The steeda H pipe sounded great. Ran it with the OEM valved exhaust. If I did it again. Id just do the H pipe with the ford exhaust and call it a day instead of going down the rabbit hole.

Emissions is the main reason I will never do headers. Just too much of a hassle getting it to pass. Oh and cost.
I couldnt get it to pass with OEM headers. Again only reason I went headers/Cats was because I was told I needed cats anyways.

Be sure you order them with the correct connection pipes. Either factory or performance connect. I went ahead and ordered THESE at the same time.

I've had those same headers for close to a couple years now and I've been very happy with them.
Same. The Big Daddies extenders worked for me. Mine threw a CEL almost immediately after install. Even with a Wengerd tune. The extenders fixed it immediately.

Yes.

I have Stainless Works headers, HPPL 00100 cats, rear O2 extenders, E85. No trouble setting my readiness monitors.
