Headers installation, Minnesota

Hey guys! I am trying to find a place to install my headers but most shops either way expensive or they don’t have any appointments available until November. Does anyone know a place or a person who installs headers on mustangs, it’s a 2021 GT. Thanks in advance!

Just bite the bullet and do it yourself. They’re not terribly difficult, just time consuming

I did mine with a buddy. My review:

I put stainless power headers on 2 different S-550's lying on my back. Here's my advice, the drivers side is easy, the passenger side is a MF. Get yourself an engine lifting bar from harbor freight, about 80 bucks, and a stretch belt tool. You need to support the engine because you have to pull the motor mounts out of the car to get the headers in. On the passenger side, remove the A/C belt and loosen the bolts holding the A/C compressor to the engine so you gain about a 1/4" more clearance, you will need it. Also you need a set of E-torx sockets, you can get them at harbor freight for about 20 bucks. You need to to pull 6 of the 8 studs out on the passenger side and IIRC it takes an E-7. The top two back studs can stay in but the rest need to come out.

You do not need to remove any of the studs. I installed stainless power 1 7/8" long tube headers on my 2015 and I did not remove any studs. remove the A/C line and recharge the A/C when the job is complete, $60.00 for the A/C charge. Have as much light under the car as you can so you can see everything at all times.

I also installed BBK short tube headers on my other mustang 2011 V6. I heard all sorts of horror stories about that install, and it was not that bad. The nuts in the back of the engine (passenger side) were 1/4 turn at a time (I was told) not true. You have to come from behind the header and between the engine block and header. you can get a good 3/4 turn at a time. I did not remove any studs on that install either.
