I assume you're having this issue for the same reason I did. There is more than one "ESN" in your sync info. You want to enter in the "SYNC Serial Number (ESN):". You do NOT want the "Onboard Modem Serial Number (ESN):"
Thanks MetalCord! I was having this exact problem, not realizing that if you scroll down in the 'About' screen, you'll find your SYNC ESN. I'm currently downloading my complementary update...

As soon as I entered the Sync serial number, my update info popped up and I saw that I was eligible for a complimentary map update. Hope that helps.
I am using the Sync serial number. I got a map update for another 2019 vehicle just fine just not this one.

I do. i even called them to see if they had another 2019 mustang in case they might have mixed it up. This is the VIN 1FA6P8CF6K5141638 if you search it it shows the 2019 mustang and I was able to confirm that they have this car
Not sure why ford's system is saying that they do not match
I'd call Ford and tell them this information, maybe they have a work around.

I keep calling them and eventually i get a call back from someone from ford and they confirm the info, say they will call me back then disappears into thin air,

So I eventually got someone that got to the bottom of this for me. Seems that the VIN I have has a different ESN attached to it. They gave me that esn but it's not what I have. They are saying I have to call into a ford dealership to update the esn but when I do they want the car to come in so they can verify and make the changes. Unfortunately I cannot bring the car in as it is in a hundred pieces
So unless i can figure out the vin it came from i think there is really no way to figure this out. The scrapper insists that is the car it came from but ford has a different esn on their system and no way to update to even buy an upgrade.
Only consolation is that the maps are usually outdated anyway so I guess it's waze going forward
The joys of upgrading!

Yes, while 118 is the latest at this time, it is still about 2-5 years behind Google Maps or Apple Maps or Waze.

I have the built in for basic stuff, or areas I don't get Cel Towers for Data....

So i tried to update my 19 gt using my phone and it said free, but 90min. It also offered USB for $40. Do i assume USB memory stick is mailed to me and i plug in car? Or do i have to download using computer to stick then load into car? Or do i have it all wrong?

They send you a stick... so you are getting it for free, but paying for a USB stick. 8)

The "free/cheaper" option you download and transfer to a USB stick. The "pay extra" option they send you a USB stick. Both options you start the car and plug the USB stick directly into the car and let it work. It takes about 1 hour (with your car running - you can drive it, just don't turn it off until complete). The install is pretty "silent" and won't give you much by way of status updates... just let it work.

There are links to download instruction PDF's at the bottom of the update website page.

FWIW, I downloaded the map updates from syncnavigation.com web site yesterday. When all was said and done my 17 went from NA 1 15 to NA 1 18.

The download was 13.1 Gigs and on my internet connection took over an hour. Extracting the file to the USB stick took almost an hour.

It took almost exactly an hour to install. When i first plugged in the USB stick it fid a system update that took about a minute and i had to power cycle the system before the map update would start. About 30 minutes in it did a system reset and told me to power cycle the system. Once powered back up the install continued until I got a message the update was complete and I could remove the USB stick and power cycle the system.
