Hey Guys-
Just picked up a 2023 Mach 1 with a 600A interior and the power cloth seat with NO MEMORY SETTING is just not doing it for me. Has anyone UPGRADED there interior to a premium leather with MEMORY SETTING feature?? Since the car has power seats, (just in cloth) I was hoping ford wired it up, but DELETED the plug since no memory feature, maybe possibly... and all i have to do is get me some premuim leather seats & door covers with switch, plug and play... Hoping. Can anyone chime in, appreciate the helP!

Thanks Anthony

P.S> I dont care about heated and cooling aspects of seats, just memory & leather from cloth.*

Leather to cloth swap is easy. It’s adding the memory that likely hasn’t been done, most people that want it order it that way or find one that has it already. You would need to add the switch to the door panel (which would also require a different door panel to house said switch), and that’s assuming the wiring is even there. I would assume there’s a Forscan setting that needs to be turned on as well.

Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with it but you might be going down a rabbit hole with that one. Katzkin might be a good alternative to add a good, quality leather and can be customized to your liking.

Thanks on reply, ohhhh ok. Do i have to stick with 2023 version of a premium seat? Does the donor seat having heated/cooled function matter?
I figured def new donor door panels w a switch and forscan 4 sure.. But just wondered if anyone did it already, i searched and came up empty!!!

I don’t think the seats changed, so any Mach 1 leather seat should work. I assume the GT premium seats would work also. Just know that Ford’s leather isn’t really leather, it’s more vinyl. There might be some spots that are actual leather but not much. My dad has a premium GT with about 50k miles and the seats are starting to show their mileage. Still in decent shape though.

Katzkin covers are real leather and most folks that have them rave about them. You can do a color match stitching, inserts or even a complementary color to your car’s color. They have quite a few colors to choose from. Can also do suede inserts as well. It can be a DIY install also, although I’ve heard it can be a near due to the tight fitment.

Regarding your search coming up empty, that’s probably proof enough that the swap with the memory function probably isn’t worth doing. Donor panels may be hard to find, and I’m sure brand new panels aren’t cheap. Taking off the door panel isn’t terrible but a little time consuming. If you’re serious about doing it, I would pull the door panel and make sure the wiring is actually there first. If it is, it just becomes a cost analysis. If it’s not there, down the rabbit hole you go 😎. Forscan should be easy enough to turn on if you know where in the tables to go.

Start a build thread if you end up going for it, I’m sure some others would follow.

I’m pretty sure someone did do it on here, and if I remember correctly, the wiring was not in the door. Also, the memory function itself requires a control module of some sort which required its own custom wiring, again from my memory. I think this person was also adding the heat and cool function at the same time. I’ll see if I can search for it, but I have not had good luck with searching on here lately for some reason.

Here is a thread: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/adding-memory-seat.128949/

I recommend going to Google and using site:mustang6g.com <whatever you want to search> instead of using the site's built-in search.

@Mike Pfeifer is correct, the memory seat has a different module underneath of the seat.

I would personally go with a custom set of Katzkin covers. I have the Premier Trim covers (the ones that have leather just in the very center) and the Katzkin I've seen are nicer.

Seems like a lot of work for the relatively small benefit you get from it. If you’re going to do that, may as well get the heat and cool functions working too.

So then just say, I wanted to forget about the memory feature and heating and cooling anmd just have the POWER work, is this possible via plug and play?? Say from a 2015 donor leather car to my 2023 base power cloth seat?

Thanks Anthony
