Hardwiring Radar Detector (Valentine One)

Hey,
I'm sure there are tons of people with hardwired radar detectors - so i'm looking to hear how you did it.
Personally, I picked up one of these wires, hooked it into my V1, and then used the prongs on the back of the mirror. The problem is, those prongs hold no stable connection, I pretty much need to jam it into the only power socket going in, digging up the wire coating probably which will eventually completely rip up the wire. Any warm day, the coating gets soft and my prong loses connectivity, so i have to jam it in again, and rinse/repeat almost every day with both power and ground.
I know that doing this is going to wear down the wire i'm trying to vampire off of with my little prong, so i'm hoping there's a better way to use this thing, or just a completely better alternative.

Do those prongs just attach to your mirror also? If so, how do they get connectivity to the power/ground without hacking up the wires feeding those connections (like I'm doing in my description)

No sorry, that runs back to the fuse panel and piggybacks a fuse of your choose

I have mine done this way for Escort Max2. The prongs are very difficult to insert (at least in my experience).

Thanks, that would be super helpful I think. I'm convinced I'm killing my wires by stabbing them with these prongs on a daily basis. lol

Why are you stabbing them on a daily basis? Power goes on the bottom right and ground goes three or four prongs the left (can't remember but it is occupied by another wire also)

I stab them daily because they keep falling out, the connectivity is barely touching, but i'm jamming the prongs in pretty strong already though

I use the same power cord as IOEggception does. Its more reliable for me than it sounds like it is for you, but do occasionally have to re-insert the prongs. I haven't found any better solutions that don't require running wires. (But really I just haven't been looking)
