No cutting required. You just plug into the existing connector. It could be uninstalled at any time with no ill effects.

I also have the blend mount which makes it all look factory mounted.

So if i get the mirror tap. I just need to unplug a cable behind my rear view mirror, plug the mirror tap in and that it?

You plug the mirror tap electrodes into the connector, just beside the existing cables...the red and black pieces are the mirror tap connectors.

The connector in the picture isn't a Mustang. Your plug would be white. It's easy to disconnect it from the back of your mirror, plug in the mirror tap into it, and plug the connector back into the mirror.

I must add, this is assuming you have a self-dimming mirror...

Thanks for taking the time to take pics AV80R! I got another question. The shortest mirror tap cable i found was 8 inches long. What did you do with all the extra cable?

I got one for my Valentine One, zero complaints.

I just ordered a mirror tap and the Valentine Blendmount. Cant wait!
I hope the installation goes smoothly. Im not the best when it comes to installations and stuff lol
