Mandrel bends are what you want...you have it backwards and you seem to get upset easy. Relax
He put mandrel bends in quotes because they say that they do mandrel bends, but they actually end up doing crush bends.

real mandrel (top) vs what most shops call mandrel bent

and im not upset, just sick of the general smug and arrogant attitude from people on this forum that have no fucking clue how to turn a wrench, but know it all because they read it online. i guess im just accustomed to yellowbullet with actual fast cars and guys that know what the hell they are doing, and shit talking is standard, while people here passive aggressively take jabs at people with real experience trying to help.

I get it, I've been a Mechanic since 1983 and I'll be 50 tomorrow. I am also a member of a forum that I use for information because I'm restoring a '66 big block Corvette coupe which consists of older members. You wouldn't believe the difference in the level of respect between members (older) compared to the Mustang forums.

Point is, I've been around and have tons of experience wrenching and on these forums. You need to learn how to ignore any stupidity you see or at least show a better example to these types. Your last post is just another example of that. Believe me, 10/12 years ago I was letting myself get pissed at the turds on the Mustang forums and it's not worth it.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Stopped by my local custom exhaust shop -Iowa Mufflers and Brakes (they put downpipes on my SHO a couple years back) and they quoted me $146 installed - mandrel bent (yes TRUE mandrel) and 304 stainless. Getting it done Friday.....:headbang:

Update: Had the work done on Friday. They cut the resonator off, used the existing clamps up front and welded it at the back, all in 2.5" 304 stainless. Stupid me did not take a picture when they were showing me the finished product. Came out to just over $150 with tax and was in/out in just over an hour. Sounds great!!! Not sure WHY Ford put it on in the first place. Has a nice lower end rumble but not ovely loud or annoying.....well worth the cost.
