I cant disagree but a couple things, first im not interested in being under my car turning a wrench, not my thing, I work on enough dirt bikes today, second Id love to see that deal if you have a link. But like I said I dont think any changes to my car if any at all will happen in the first year or more. I just want to drive it, do some track days, maybe the Silver state classic. So i think this whole thing is very personal, I believe the value is there for this package and all I was saying is that my experience driving was that there wasnt a significant difference in ride quality to me, other than that handling on the PP was noticeably better.

Oh the tires, got a guy locally that drove all winter on them here, he said there where not terrible but had to be careful. My care will never see a single snow flake. I have a truck Im happy to drive :).
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=699933&postcount=19 Here's the post. Here's the Tasca brake page for a better view http://www.tascaparts.com/auto-part...0l-v8-gas-engine/brakes-cat/front-brakes-scat

The PP Calipers are $250.69 each, the PP rotors are $98.67 each. Oh forgot the splash shields, a whole $4 each side.

The OEM brake pads are listed as $217 but obviously you can use any set of pads; StopTech are $100 and under for the PP as well as many major brands.

So say $500 calipers, $200 rotors and $100 pads and $10 for the splash shields to be rough. $800-810 for the parts.

Brakes are super easy to swap on this car; 4 bolts remove the caliper and pads slide the rotor off and bolt on the new caliper and slide the new rotor on. Hardest/lengthiest part of the process will probably be bleeding the brakes honestly.

Of course the PP is worth it, but I guess my main point here was it's not the end of the world to not get it too as you can build something very similar with better suspension for less than the PP costs.

Let me simplify it for the OP.
If he wants manual transmission, AND he likes the wheels that come with PP (black or silver) THEN the PP is a great value, and all the important performance mods are done.

If he thinks he may want different wheels/tires, then he is faced with spending ~$2500 (or more). At that point the original $2500 for PP can be spent on these wheels, or it can be spent here and there over time to upgrade whatever he wants. (I could be wrong, but I would think that wide sticky tires will be the biggest performance increase over PP.)

My DIY PP plan (bc of auto) will cost me around $5-6k, but I can spread out the cost over time, and I have the WORLD to choose from for wheels and tires, and everything else. Ain't cheap. :(

WAY overpriced. Per my above post, from Tasca you can buy the parts separately for $710 (calipers, rotors and dust shields) and get your own pads- $217 for OEM pads is a ripoff. A good set is $100.

That is double the actual parts cost.
I have to wonder why those calipers dont have the "stamped" brembro insignia on them. Strange. The guy that bought them in the other thread had to put stickers on them, thats unusual.

Im going to call my buddy who owns a brakes plus franchise and have him check this out for me. He buys oem parts all the time.

Anyway I still think the PP if worth the money, not sure any of the other wheels Ford has are all that attractive to me.

This is like asking if someone likes asparagus, you'll get a lot of different answers and none of them are wrong.

He put stickers on after powdercoating them red is why. The calipers should come just how they are on the PP cars.

I say pass on the PP for your use. I decided I didn't need it and didn't want it for a few reasons regarding my needs and wants for the car.

Its my DD for now and I plan to sun a set of 18" snow wheels and tires and you cant do that with the PP.

Suspension isn't the best. Aftermarket will still make a better setup cheaper.

Gears. I drove a PP car before I ordered my car and didn't like all that rowing for the amount of city driving I do.

I don't like the PP wheels (but I do like the 2016 option more).

I don't really plan on tracking my car until its paid off. Have fun with that insurance claim... "what do you mean you wont cover me because I was coming thru thee kink at Road America at triple digit speeds??" :headbonk: That's what my motorbike is for :first:.

Stock GT brakes are good as is. I think they are last years Brembos and that's not shabby for a street car.

Lastly, for the reasons above I don't need better cooling. If I was going to take it to the track I probably wouldn't push hard enough to find the limit of the stock GT with better rubber and some springs and shocks.

The performance package all the way is my choice
Wheels are just fine for my color of Magnetic Metallic and 19's in size. Larger radiator, stiffer chassis components/suspension, Large disk brakes, and 3.55 gears. That is a lot to invest to get to that point or personalize and I don't have to do any of that and Ford will warranty that as well. I like the two center gauges and dash as well as I don't have to buy aftermarket to get those gauges or figure out how to connect them.

I came from a 2011 mustang v6 base and spent too much money modifying the suspension and gears. I never modified the brakes on my 2011, but the brakes on my 2015 are so much better in the PP than the base brakes on my V6 I traded in.

Just my opinion for what it's worth. It is your car so as always do what make sense for you as your car is your personality.

The value is there, if you are on the fence, make sure that you are willing to spend more money to absolutely get what you want. For me I'm very happy with the Performance package in the ecoboost.

PP is worth what you think its worth based on how you use your car. If you drive it on city roads at 40-50 and highway and never will see a track and its a work commute/grocery getter then it's not worth it at any price. It's buying it to buy it to say you have it.

I equate it to the "oh it's only $.50 to supersize why not?" Well if you dont eat half the smaller size then the upgrade is all wasted money at any price whether it was $.10 or $20.

If you aren't going to utilize the features of the PP over what the regular GT offers, which is still very good and plenty for daily driving, then it's a waste at any amount of money other than to say "I have Brembos" or say you have the PP jsut to say you have it; and $2,500 isn't a small amount of money. That's a lot of mods and you can build one hell of a suspension with the 4 piston base brakes (as stated numerous times they were good enough for the Shelbys and Bosses every year prior) for way less than half the PP cost.

Equally, if you're going to buy it and gut the PP wheels/tires, swaybars, and springs to lower it; it's probably still a waste of money to get it to begin with. You can build up on a base GT without stripping the PP parts you paid for already.

The only thing scaring me about the PP is the staggered wheels and the cost of the tires since you can't rotate them.

then get tires with a high treadwear rating. I LOVE Toyo Proxes 4 Plus.. they rate at 560. those tires will last you quite a while.

yeah yeah...but did you forget the whole part about you are buying a mustang?

if you take care of the tires though staggered still lasts but plenty of people end up getting rid of pp wheels regardless and going squared or staying staggered anyways.

plus stock pirellis aren't the best to begin with...they won't last too long in general even if you could rotate them.

Stock comes painted I believe he did say that the new ones didn't come this way and he had to buy stickers. Not sure it matters. Still waiting on the part confirmation.
