I would think you could benefit more by cutting out the cat housing and welding in straight piping. As for headers, you wou,d probably gain some additional power, but not as much as LTH. The next question is, how important is improving the sound to you? Gutted cats or even straight pipes will never sound as good as LTHs IMO.

I have H pipe with roush axle backs and love the sound. But I know it's going to be too loud with LTH and so I was going to have to go with a borla sport cat back. So I just didn't know if I wanted to do all that when my sound is great now. If the benefits were worth it then I would do it.

The benefits will be well worth it if you tune it on E85. At the very least, I would consider getting rid of the cat bodies for straight pipes. That won’t change the sound too much more than what it is currently. Have you dyno’d the car yet? My car made 469 rwhp/434 rwtq with catted LTHs, a Steeda x-pipe and factory Active Exhaust. Yes, it was loud, but not as loud as some of the non catted cars I’ve heard. Now I have a Steeda axle back and that bumped up the sound a little more, but in a good way.

This^^

The factory manifolds flow quite well, the cats are the choke point.
True, shorties are a waste of dollars. Don't change headers unless you go with LTH.

I would say there is still a bit of power left on the table honestly, long tubes have a more free flowing design to them over the shorty style Coyote headers. Also like mentioned, gutting the cats only fixes one of the issues, the cat housing itself will still add as a restriction. If you have any questions or like to see which setups we have in stock ready to ship, feel free to give me a shout anytime. Lethalperformance.com

Dollar per hp gained LTH are at the very bottom of the list, like Titanic bottom.

Does anyone still sell "off-road" LTH's?

If not, you could cut the cats out of the mid-pipe and have a piece of straight pipe welded in. If you ever decided to go back to cats, just reverse that procedure.
