Gutted my cats

Has anyone else done this? I'm planning on headers(catless), but my buddy did it for me for $100 when I had him check on a possible exhaust leak or so I thought. Noticed an increased response/hp gain. It made it a little louder but at higher RPMs and now I have no drone what so ever. Also no CEL has came on so that's good from what I had heard.

My setup is an x pipe with 44 series flowmasters.

Haha yea yea I know! I just did it on a whim. Like I said!... I plan on headers. Lol. Still cheapest hp gain so far.

how do you like the 44 series on this car? I have the x pipe and super 10s and they drone a lot. I sorta like the sound and they are loud as hell, but reminds me too much of a truck sound at times.

I actually really like them for what I paid. Was $450 for x pipe, axle back and he did the j pipes on them too to help w the drone I guess.

With the cats gone I don't even get the drone I had before. The main times I even had drone though was in 3rd around 45 if I had my throttle just right and 6th barely accelerating at 55-60 mph and even then it wouldn't do it all the time.

They're a little more raspier now but it still sounds mean. Also after gutting I get the popping and all that jaz too now. All in all I like the setup compared to other local ones I've heard. Might try and get a clip up if I have time.
