What do you mean, you don't want your instrument cluster in a $400k car to be a $50 dollar ipad?
LOL even the 2025 Ferrari I sat in had a joke interior felt like 1985 Tercel.

While I like the old style gauges, I'll have to admit that I've seen serious racers, both motorcycle and cars go with digital electronic gauges for increased monitoring and recall functions. So while I'm not keen on iPad screen visually, I see their place, their benefit in certain display/monitoring situations. The GTD is probably one that can benefit from it...if Ford incorporates such performance related features.

Oh...and my GT Premium Mustang, while looking like an old school dash is NOT old school in reality. I would consider it an in-between transition to what we see today. But...I miss the tactile controls of these new vehicles. When I drive my wife's car or rent a newer car with non-tactile screens, my experience is underwhelming, though functional.

Appearance wise on Gen 7 Mustangs I do like the look of the wrap-around screens better than the 2-separate screen config. But we know Ford did that intentionally to make people want to pay more for that upgrade.

I wish the screens were actually iPads with some downloadable programming rather than custom, bespoke items. An iPad could be replaced 10-15 years from now after it fails. Screens might be tougher to find replacements for.

I don't mind screens, but I want physical buttons for the important controls that are used every day. Cars should be designed so that if the screen fails, nothing important to the operation of the car will be missing.

I like to disassemble things.
Apparently, Ford's focus groups want whiz bang video screens, automatic transmissions, Recaro seats with no heating/cooling, locked ECU's, high prices, inexperienced oil changing technicians, and their data shared with insurance companies. Sounds legit.

And for the higher price they want a heavier car that's slower compared to the previous model. I'm sure that's true as well.

To me, any question of why Ford went to the 'iPad' screens is glaringly obvious when you consider who the competition is now with Camaro and Challenger/Charger gone...

Saw 5 cars yesterday, very interesting to see the subtle differences of the finishes. Painted, vs the carbon series w a center stripe, vs not, and a SOA. No pix as a couple of the cars are not yet into the owners hands.

Lol I just came here to post the same video.

what surprised me was that they went with AntiGravity for the battery. Thought Ford would take the opportunity to make their own or go with a US company like Braille.

I have an AG battery in my car by the way
