Congrats all that got an allocation, and for letting the forum live vicariously through you. Can't wait to follow your journey!!

I’m curious to know if there weren’t as many applications submitted or they’re planning to try and pump the number of cars out.
It was basically a way for Ford to print money. I haven't heard of any that didn't get accepted. It only makes sense, the more to produce, the less of a custom car and more of a mass production which lowers cost while increasing profits. They are probably making at least 200k per unit.
Regardless, congrats to everyone. The waiting begins again!

Got my acceptance letter too! Shocked to be given an allocation - as others have said, the journey now begins! For me, convincing the wife to do this without selling any cars!!!!

There’s a few who’ve posted on Facebook that didn’t get accepted.

Don’t want to muck up Tom’s journey thread. I saw StangChode got one and he put a poll on his Instagram if he should get the Carbon Series or the base and modify it. LOL like he’s going to be able to modify it and improve it. I also watched his video (first one I’ve watched of his in a long long time) and he’s not even sure if he can afford it after talking to Schmee about down payment requirements, etc. Not sure if that’s just a YouTube act or what but if he has serious doubts about affordability how did Ford select him?? From other comments, it sounds like this isn’t the first time he’s said on his channel he’s not sure if he can actually afford it…

This is the first that I have heard/seen of any that were turned down today. Every person that I have been following received one. Granted that is only a dozen or so units... a small sample

Same, I’ve seen a few rejected ones. I haven’t seen any waitlisted folks, I wonder how many of those there are

You're living in fantasy land if you actually believe Ford is making 200k per car on the GTD.

Ford’s a manufacturer and there to make money, obviously. I’d be surprised if this program generates much profit for the company. It does however have immence value for the brand. Most of us forget the only reason the 350’s and 500’s were at the price points they were is due to how many regular mustang units were being sold. It’s the whole economy of scale deal. Just simply looking at the level of the parts in the GTD the production cost has to be through the roof. I can’t speak for others but for me personally I’ve just never been in to the european offerings. They have some stunning cars(Porsche inparticular) just never been able to bring myself to go down that avenue. I’m not a ra ra type person but the GTD being a US offering and a “mustang” does it for me. The 325k price tag is a whoole other discussion. There’s still quite a few unknown variables with the GTD.

You're living in fantasy land if you actually believe Ford is making 200k per car on the GTD.
