Wonder how much of it is just the fault of weight, and gearing.First GT500 vs ZLE review is out. GT500 did not do so hot https://www.caranddriver.com/review...ng-shelby-gt500-vs-2019-chevy-camaro-zl1-1le/
.I would like to see a better run between a redeye hellcat and a GT500, the redeye should be quicker and faster the the ZL1 and that crude drag race between the 3 cars just doesnt really represent the redeye's 1/4 mile does it?Wonder how much of it is just the fault of weight, and gearing.
Did they actually post any lap times I dont see them.
That said if the GT500 is beating Hellcats while hanging with a ZLE thats still impressive. It's not easy to fast in both.
More to it than that... read everylineTLDR: The Camaro is better according to Car and Driver because it’s more budget friendly guys.
I think the hellcat redeye is the one the gt500 should be concerned about regarding 1/4 mileWonder how much of it is just the fault of weight, and gearing.

The CF GT500 wears the best track tire, michelin cup 2's with a r compound, the GT500 reat tire is taller creating a bigger foot print compared to the 1LEIf you are going to compare the cars on a track (road or drag track), then to be fair, both should be wearing the same tires.
I don't understand how the taller tire creates the bigger foot print. Can someone explain if this true? The CF GT500 wears the best track tire, michelin cup 2's with a r compound, the GT500 reat tire is taller creating a bigger foot print compared to the 1LE

It certainly is!TLDR: The Camaro is better according to Car and Driver because it’s more budget friendly guys.
I believe a 26 inch tall tire versus a 28 inch tall tire with the same width measurements, the overall contact patch is bigger on the 28 inch tall tire from what I understand.I don't understand how the taller tire creates the bigger foot print. Can someone explain if this true?
So maybe taller results in more tire compressing against the ground... but it seems like it would make it less stiff, reducing tire contact during cornering...I believe a 26 inch tall tire versus a 28 inch tall tire with the same width measurements, the overall contact patch is bigger on the 28 inch tall tire from what I understand.
