I liked the video, but it wasn't a comparison. In order to be a comparison, the items have to be similar to each other and have some commonality.
The only thing in common with these two cars was that they were cars with the Ford name on them.

I do think he undersells just how big of an effect the track package has on the GT500. Not that it was going to make it comparable to the GTD, but its a significant and noticeable handling change. The base car does feel pretty soft and has a fair amount of body roll.

The engines share quite a few parts. But yeah, that's about it. Maybe the window glass?? The dash?

Pretty sure they're exactly the same minus the oiling system and a pulley/tune.
There were some changes to the heads and exhaust manifolds to meet emissions. Some detail changes on the fuel system. The parts are available, but there is continued debate over whether they will be implemented for '25 MY or held to '26.

I like to disassemble things.

I struggle with that given spring rates are close beyond what results in a minor difference in ride height, front sway bars are the same and the CFTP rear bar is 1mm larger in diameter. Damper differences are minute as well.

The parts you've mentioned are what are on the GTD as of the '25 MY or right now.

My understanding is the chassis is just a modified S650 aka 95% S550 chassis. Isn't it also fundamentally the same transmission, too, just packaged and configured as a rear -mounted transaxle? Plus obviously the in-board rear suspension complements

Fun video to watch. I liked it. Might actually check out the investment thing he quickly advertised.

“Contributing to the amazing performance of the Ford Mustang GTD is its TREMEC transmission, the TR-9080 DCT dual clutch transmission.”
This is the same nomenclature used for the C8. Presume a lot of commonality with that version.
