If I had a base GT350 I'd do exactly as I have done with my 16 Track pack and add Multimatic DSSV dampers. And drop a ton of weight from it. That would be a bad ass car.One of the reasons I have kept my gt350 is mechanically the car is great. As for speed? My car has been a beast. On all the track, street and strip. This is why I bought the "true base". Much less "nannies" and the best of the gt350's in unobtained glory.
Most people don't know but ALL 3 gt350 models for 16' have a completely different PCM software load? put all 3 PCM's up on torque, fuel mapping, yaw and traction intervention, motor and trans thresholds, suspension position to HP output curve and tps to fuel ratio graphs and you will see why the 16' tech packs have so many issues. Just a hidden secret? Run all 3 at the track, strip, accelerating, g's and so and see which is faster and performs the best? Not the tech! Maybe not the "R"? Re-flash PCM complete with "R" calibrations to tech and see what happens then? Different car? Much different results. Where did limp mode go on the track? Disappeared?
Got this info from someone that works within F-"*
That is why the 17' has the identical PCM programming between track and tech packs and perform virtually the same.
These cars as I said before are probably the most technologically advanced produced in the USA but that same technology has created many of the same problems for the gt350.
All I can say is my car has run against numerous iron from everyone and on the road course I have done incredible including polishing off more than a handful of Porsche's (Cayman's, Turbo and Gt3's) and everything else around the track. At the strip a little different but my car's best time is a corrected 11.8 in the quarter. Have won and lost. Not bad. on a clear street only car that has seemed to crush me has been the GT-R repeatedly then a Porsche turbo, Hellcat and a new z06 here and there. Not many and usually by a length or so.
Like I said speed and performance have been very very strong on my car. That being said the usual fit and finish, ford and dealer let downs overweighed my gt350 experience. Great car. Still too new? About 2500 miles but just too much BS from the dealers and then no support from Ford to get simple things covered under warranty. That has been a joke.
Hmm interesting. I love my base '16.One of the reasons I have kept my gt350 is mechanically the car is great. As for speed? My car has been a beast. On all the track, street and strip. This is why I bought the "true base". Much less "nannies" and the best of the gt350's in unobtained glory.

It is rather sad to see people calling the gt 350 stale when many of us are still waiting on our allocation to get pulled in the spring...Exactly, zl1 hasn't won anything yet. We know it's fast for a lap. What happens when heat soak starts setting in? We'll see how it pans out. I do know that Ford SHOULD have an answer to the zl1 and the phat cats, but it sure is taking its damn time. The 350/R has been a good car but it's getting stale, something needs to change on it.
I love fords but if the ZR1 mid engine comes and is on par or exceeds the C7, it's gonna be parked in my garage, no question.
If you are obsessed with being able to brag that your car has the fastest time or best stats on paper, you might be disappointed and consider the car "stale"It is rather sad to see people calling the gt 350 stale when many of us are still waiting on our allocation to get pulled in the spring...
Well it will still be exciting for me when the time comes, although I am looking forward to hearing about the next Ford performance mustang! :ford:
I can say that where I found the GT350 lacking (in a track environment) was simply a lack of horsepower, torque, (and acceleration compared to some of the other cars I was running with). We have all heard the expression "if I only had 100 more horsepower". Well, as great as the GT350 is, I could hang with the audi R8 (v10's) and the Corvette Z06, but they flat out had the edge at each turn in exit accelleration. Those bastards could exit the turns and accelerate faster than my naturally aspirated FPC could keep up.If you are obsessed with being able to brag that your car has the fastest time or best stats on paper, you might be disappointed and consider the car "stale"
If you are like most people where your skills limit the potential and not the car, i promise it will put a smile on your face every time you drive it. Hell it will put a smile on your face even if you just start it and open the exhaust valves.
They're not stale, that's BS.It is rather sad to see people calling the gt 350 stale when many of us are still waiting on our allocation to get pulled in the spring...

I think you're confused. You're trying to compare a naturally aspirated high revving V8 to a supercharged V8; not the same animal.I didn't mean to get members blood pressure up. The car is wonderful but I would like more power. The 75 (give or take) HP comes from headers, intake and a tune. That is about all that can be done to safely bring up the Voodoo's power other than FI. Until I see several others using FI with good results I am going to shy away. My engine has been replaced once and the new engine is using oil (so far a quart every 750 miles).
You have quite a bit of knowledge on this platform. How can the car be brought up to 600 wheel HP without FI? I ask this not as a challenge to you. If it can be done that would be awesome.
From the interwebs and other sources the LT4 can be reliably run up to 800 wheel HP. Below are 2 examples.
800 hp build with minimal (under $3000) invested. Yes the music and video are hard to watch but you asked.
800 HP build with a little more invested.
This is just a very fun hobby to me. Please don't take it the wrong way. I am sorry if I have insulted anyone. Just making conversation which is what forums are all about.
Happy new year :chill:
Been looking for another "true base" but next to impossible without ending up at $70k+ used. Very hard car to find now. The base PCM is set up differently than the others. My friend who works within the blue said we switch the cams! Only the base will work. Supposedly there are some cams that are out that work phenomenally well in the 5.2 raising the torque curve dramatically in the 2800 rpm range and up while going all the way up to 8800rpm and HP approaching 650? Only problem is I don't want to be the guinea pig unless I have a back up gt350. But Since so many new great cars coming out I don't know if it is worth owning another gt350? I drove a hopped up Audi S6 and wow. Probably the fastest car I have driven on the street. Even faster than an AMS GT-R and Hellcat. Could not believe how hard this car hits and handled quite good for a 4 door. Supposedly 650hp but instant grip and acceleration and control. May be my new addition. If I had a base GT350 I'd do exactly as I have done with my 16 Track pack and add Multimatic DSSV dampers. And drop a ton of weight from it. That would be a bad ass car.
