M2 0-60 4.2, 1/4 mile 12.7
GT350 0-60 4.3, 1/4 mile 12.5
please explain your definition of "way slower"
Okay, I'll explain it.
12.5.. is a VERY slow time for 526hp/3700lbs. Very slow. BUT.. it trapped 118mph. 113mph is a much slower trap speed than 118mph.
Many people are already hitting 12 flat and high 11's. I guarantee you will never see a stock M2 get even close.
MotorTrend is who you're quoting correct for those GT350 times right?
12.5 at 117.6 mph if I'm not mistaken. Slow right? Well.. that same magazine.. got 12.7 at 107.8 mph with the M2. With a DCT (extremely fast transmission). All that means is they got a great launch, while the GT350 (has proven tough to launch with first gear going to 54mph, not to mention you got to shift RIGHT before 60mph which skews 0-60 times I'm sure) did NOT get a decent launch, but easily destroyed it in a straight line performance standard of trap speed.
Trap speed is the end-all, be-all in terms of acceleration.
If a car ran a 10.9.. but trapped 115mph.. in any normal race.. ANYWHERE.. the GT350 would pull on it.
