Todd,

I really don't understand why is it hard to admit the old gen track pack zo6 is faster than the new gen regular c7? We put that on the side, how in the world a 3130 lbs 505 hp track pack car is going to loose to a gt350, which can barely beat a z28 on the track! Either you have to be a super fan boy to believe in such a thing or you are seriously not using the brain of yours! How hard is it to slap someone back to reality!
Whoa whoa whoa whoa, hold up a minute there chief! What did I tell you about the strict rules of bench racing, if we are going to bench race, we have to at least abide by those rules. No GT350 laptime is available at any track, the time it supposedly did at the ring was reported by one of the least credible car sites in existence. Not only that but ring times are always skeptical since there is no governing body, no same day comparison tests, etc etc etc. So we will have to wait for the golden boy Probst to get his hands on one before we can start the first heat of GT350 bench racing. Once we get the holy grail lap time around the streets of willow we will be good, but hopefully probst also will get it around laguna in the annual motortrend shootout there.

Secondly, yes we get it, you live and die by performance specs and laptimes on the internet. I think the main disconnect in this heated bench racing battle is reality at the race track. The C6 z06 is a beast, it laps the track quickly with brute raw power and huge huge tires that give it a huge grip advantage. Now if you are randy probst, you might be able to get it around the track at full tilt (although even probst even admits it is extremely hairy in that car), but if you are NOT the american incarnation of the Stig, and just a mere track day hero (or keyboard hero), then getting all that power to the ground and managing all that grip it the limit is likely to be an area of concern, so much in fact that many track day heros will get around the track faster, in a slightly more composed car down on HP (perhaps even like the C7). If HP figures alone mattered, the ZR1 should have consistently demolished the Z06, but it never did. The Z06 should have wiped the floor with the GTR...but it never did.

One thing the C7 has though is a slew of driver error correcting grannies. I mean look at this complete mouth breathing idiot manage to NOT bin his car, despite driving like a complete bafoon. If this dingdong did this in a C6 Z06 Z07, im not sure he would have made it a full lap before putting it into a wall. But that is all from me today, my bench racing tires are all heat cycled out

Todd,

Honestly you know arguing here is silly and stupid but also fun, seriously though when comparing a regular c6 to c7 is totally different than the zo6 version of c6! Even if you go to the corvette forums you can see what real corvette owners are talking about!

I am not even in this debate with you about the C6 vs C7. I am just watching another trainwreck of a thread between :ford: and Chevy.

I suggest you to go to the thread of gtpp vs zo6! That zo6 is a fifth gen not even sixth, with only 400 hp! After seeing that thread and the video there, sit down and let the reality settle in slowly but surely!

Do you know the physical difference between a C6 and a C6 Z06..?
Please give us a run-down. Once that is staring you in your face, you can start to do the math.

Secondly, after you finish your remedial mathematics lesson, it will become clear to you what the difference is between "faster" and "better handling" is..

edit: and also please read post #117. (The Mustang GT has no part of any in this argument.)

The C7 has a better chassis and balance no joke, but the z51 package is pretty similar to c6zo7 package.

There are 2 major differences which gives the c6zo7 the edge in performance though. The c7z51 weights almost 3400 lbs and running on lt1 engine, on the other hand c6zo7 is only 3130 lbs and running on a high output ls7 engine.

Less weight more power plays a huge roll when it comes to tossing a car around a corner or on the straight parts of the track. There is a reason why Ford is also trying to keep the gt350r as light as possible!

See, now you are getting there. And.. the difference between a C6 and a C6 Z06..?

Wins what..? What are you bench racing again?

Now, please answer the previous question and follow along. What is the difference between a C6 and a C6 Z06..?
Well depends on the C6 or C6 GS. :ninja:
