The car looks so much better than the GT, with the lower hood and cowl and great bumper. Maybe this will be the look of the 2016 model, ventless, with narrower fenders.

Also a chance to clear-up the fitment issues with the '15s.
My feelings exactly. Since the GT500 nose -- and a few BOSS parts -- trickled down to the GT eventually, I'm hoping the same thing happens here. I don't need a stripped down racer, but the looks of the GT350 are so much more appealing to me than the current GT.

I hope so too, but I believe one reason the GT350 won't be sold worldwide is because it won't pass the Euro pedestrian crash test with the lower hood..........so I can't see this look for the GT until the first refresh, and even then only if there's budget for an "active" hood that pops up in the event of an accident. The designers wanted this for the GT, but the budget wasn't there for the '15.

I figured that, but since they're making the GT350 for the US market only, I thought there was a chance they would maybe do something after a few years with the GT that was only available in the US. I realize it may not happen, but that's what I'm hoping they could do a few years down the road. Or put in additional equipment, as you mentioned.

The '15 GT isn't terrible by any means, but the GT350 is just so much better.

I bought an '83 911 Turbo for my wife's 30th Birthday and she had me return it :(

She said it looked too much like a Beetle...

The Porsche is probably the ultimate sport vehicle, So beautifully built it's hard to compare to anything else. The price does much to keep it very exclusive. I can't afford one but I'm glad they are built for those who can.
Interesting - I think there have been some that are very good looking. One thing I do like about Porsche at least historically is that they only changed the styling in order to improve functionality. So you could still see the VW beetle in there. Those 80s 911s are awesome IMO.

Now they have just become bland - at least many of them are very bland and non-descript looking.

Porsche is still a very good quality high performance car. They used to be above most other makes but now it seems like there is greater choice. They used to enjoy a wide gap from other makes but that is no longer the case.

So... why has this changed to a discussion about Porsche?
Because there's been no news about the GT350 for weeks and we're all desperate to find an excuse to post about something in this forum? :D

Speaking of "ass engined nazi slotcars" (just kidding), how do 911 GT3s pass this european pedestrian hood height thing? Most of them I've ever seen are way lower than the GT350.

They don't have engines under their hoods.

because they are still THE sports car benchmark!!

I love them.... even the look. My biggest complaint is the sound of a turbo flat six... they don't sound good
