I think the CJ intake with lowering motor mounts is a better option. There's a reason Ford is including those with their performance crate engines and I can't imagine spending 1300 on an intake that looks stock. Hard to beat the look of a CJ set up under the hood. Good gains for just this intake though.

14.2 afr is very lean. Too lean. Normally for NA you don't want to be much leaner than 12.5 or so.

11's is normally where most boosted cars are tuned to.
I will have to check my AFR next time I get on it. I may just be thinking about when I am driving around normal.

Boosted cars are different than NA though right? My WRX used to sit at 10-9-11.2 when under boost/WOT

Yeah boosted cars prefer high 10s to in some cases low 11s, but yes the 14 your referring to is the same thing i see at cruise and part throttle accel

I actually prefer the stock look. I'd love to figure out a way to make the engine cover fit over the Voodoo intake. You'd have a pretty nasty 450-460whp car that looks stock.

I think if i take the time with some aluminum bar stock i could make something that would fit the bill, ill try my hand at it and if successful, id have no problem making additional sets...ill get to work

Yeah I can see the benefits of that too if you are going to put an engine cover over it. Might as well hide some nitrous in the sound tube while you're at it haha

The CJ intake is more expensive and it gave less hp than this. Hoow is it the better option?

Before this turns into a pissing match....just keep in mind different strokes for different folks, some people prefer the visual pop of the cj, others like myself want things a little more low key....opinions are like....foreheads, yeah foreheads, everybody's got one...lets go ahead and not get into the debate

But i would like to see a similar test done with just the cj as the sole bolt on

I only headed that off because it happens in every thread, somebody has a differing opinion, voices it and before you know it there's piss every where...goes from a thread to a rest stop bathroom real quick....lol

I would like to see more discussion about the benefits of this over the CJ - with only one dyno that stops earlier than you eventually plan to, I'm still not sold - but I am hoping this becomes a great option as well since it would be nice to not have to remove the strut tower bar and deal with hood. Just need to see how things progress for you and others until we can say for sure it's a toss up. Looking forward to your updates

Indeed peak power at higher rpms is usually around 12.9-13.1 Afr in my experience NA. I would assume tuners would target 12.5 ish but lower is generally safer
