"(Crys) it's not going to be fpc". Well where are all the sudden believers at? @Momentum I think it will be some what affordable sounds like it's going to have several option packages... I'm opting for the track pack and that's it.

Early in development of the GT350, it was decided a high-revving, naturally aspirated V8 engine would best suit a track-focused Mustang.
“The final product is essentially an all-new powerplant unique to GT350 – and one that takes true advantage of the new chassis dynamics of the Mustang platform,” said Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer, Ford Global Performance Vehicles.
The new 5.2-liter engine is the first-ever production V8 from Ford with a flat-plane crankshaft, an architecture typically found only in racing applications or exotic European sports cars. Unlike a traditional V8, where the connecting rods are attached to the crankshaft at 90-degree intervals, this design evenly spaces all crank pins at 180-degree intervals.
The 180-degree, flat-plane layout permits a cylinder firing order that alternates between cylinder banks, reducing the overlap of exhaust pressure pulses. When combined with cylinder-head and valvetrain advancements, this permits better cylinder breathing, further extending the performance envelope of the V8.
The result is the most powerful naturally aspirated production Ford engine ever, at more than 500 horsepower, with a torque peak above 400 lb.-ft. The track capability is enhanced by the output characteristics of the engine – the 5.2-liter V8 features an exceptionally broad torque curve. Combined with its high-revving ability, the flat-plane 5.2-liter V8 gives drivers an enormous amount of performance and flexibility within each gear of the lightweight six-speed manual transmission. A standard Ford-tuned Torsen limited-slip differential optimizes cornering grip and straight-line traction.
“Make no mistake, this is an American interpretation of a flat-plane crankshaft V8, and the 5.2-liter produces a distinctive, throaty howl from its four exhaust tips,” said Hameedi.

I said Ford was going to build a statement car when we were guessing HP on the GT in May. I am shocked that Ford is doing a FPC in a production engine. That said will all the other items in this car can we finally stop dreaming that this car is going to be Boss money. If it's priced anywhere below $75k I'll be shocked. This is a serious track car. I know for a fact that the previous gen Z06 could run race car laptimes on Pilot SS's. This car is a serious player.

I think, they'll bring back the Boss (or Mach1) after GT350 goes on sale.
It will be coyote engine w/ 460hp and a few parts handed down from GT350. Starting a little over ~40k. It will be there to solve the GT350 price complaints. Then after Boss (Mach1), people will complain about no real drag car.... bam GT500 is released. I think they know what we'll think before we think it.

Idk man it's hard to tell where ford is going to put this. If it's 75k why not save a little more and get the new z06? Z06 is supercar territory. I don't think this is comparable from what we currently know.

Assuming that they are keeping room for a gt500 ABOVE this, I can't see this car being much over 60k. Maybe that's just wishful thinking as I could be really happy at that price point!!! Also with all of the comparisons to the BOSS, I can't help but remember that the BOSS was just about the same price as a decked out gt.

I'm thinking it will start at the fully loaded 2014GT500 price plus 10%, so $70+ and then add options like a track pack, CF brakes, maybe CF wheels, and CF drive shaft and you looking at a $90K mustang.

GT350 looks and sounds great. Glad to see Ford is bringing their A game with the FPC and catching up to GM with the magnetic shocks. I agree only concern is how pricey will it be? Exciting times to be a car guy.

Sticking with steel rotors/Brembos and making the Track Pack and Tech Pack as options might help keep it "affordable" (everyone's definition of that varies). But all that aluminum sheet metal, wheels and tires and FPC motor keeps it out of those wanting a $50k base. So I'll stick with my original guess of $63,500 (IIRC) base and about $7K in options.
