Even with Boss 302 torque at 8000rpm that only yields 475HP.
Not sure what you mean by saying you got 475hp from Boss 302 torque @ 8000rpm??

With 390ft.lb at 8000rpm that translates to 586hp, and then for 5.2 litres it's 610hp. These are just calcs, though, and have nothing to do with Voodoo.
Peak torque for the Boss 302 is 380 ft/lbs, which at 8000 RPM would equal about 579 horsepower.

There is some confusion going on here. The Boss 302 peak torque is 380lbs-ft, but definitely not at 8,000rpm. It would be less than 300lbs-ft at those rpm's.

Look at this graph and watch the torque curve drop off as rpm's rise.

No confusion, grimace. Just discussing the theoretical horsepower at 8000 RPM, which obviously isn't reality. Truth be told I seriously doubt it's going to be 600 hp. And honestly I hope it's not that high because I want it to be priced along the lines of the Boss 302.

I'm leaning toward a Scat Pack shaker early next year, but I'm keeping my mind open on options.

Honestly, if it doesn't come with 500+ I will see that as a bit of a failure. I know HP isn't everything, but if it wants to keep up/trounce the z/28 it needs to have some power behind it. I'm expecting between 500-550 hp.
if it does not have 550hp,i would look at it as a failure as well.the reason i say this is because FORD showed a BOSS sx concept that had a N/A 302 with 500hp.if that was the case back then, there is NO REASON why a fpc cant have 550hp-625hp in the new GT350.

impossibility, yeah :) you're right.
I took a 911GT3 dyno moved rpm over 1,000rpm and shifted hp up... Which messed the hp formula up...

Peak torque for the Boss 302 is 380 ft/lbs, which at 8000 RPM would equal about 579 horsepower.

Peak torque isn't at peak HP. Formula is Torque times rpm divided by 5252. I took max HP at 7500 rpm and back calculated torque and then assumed that number could be carried out to 8000 rpm to calculate a new peak HP number.

My guess is 530 HP. And a faster track time than the z/28 for just over 50 grand. I'm really curious to see what transmission they use.

It's tough to say what kind of performance this new 5.2 is going to produce. An engine that size with an FPC could develop some monster power...somewhere around 600+ Hp would be feasible. However...I HIGHLY doubt we're going to see anything like that.

I'm going to go on the conservative side and say around 530 Hp and 450 Tq. Both figures could be +/- 15 Hp/Tq. I would guess the RPM will be in the 7500-7700 range.
