  1. Please help identify this 2012 GT

Thanks, that's good information. It doesn't look like there's a way to verify whether or not the 2012 car had the Brembo package. What kind of breaks do the base (non-PP) 2015 Mustang GT's use, and how do they hold up in a track application?
  2. Please help identify this 2012 GT

On another forum we're discussing lap times. Does this one have the Performance Package (track pack)? Is there a way to tell? I know with the 2015 Model the black wheels and spoiler delete are a giveaway. http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/willow_springs_-_streets_of_willow.html #29 Ford Mustang...
  3. 2015 5.0 on Fire literally

I had a brand new (at the time) 2001 Saleen S281 do the same exact thing. And the same as you, I also thought the car was just overheating. I was on my way to work when I saw white "steam" coming out of the side of the hood at a stop light. So I turned on the heater, the light turn green and I...
  4. Why is there so much hate from the 2011+ community?

I'm buying a new car in the next couple months, and I unfortunately had to rule it out just based on its looks. I don't hate the way it looks, but nor do I love it. And that's the problem, the design inspires no emotion in me. And it's unfortunate because in every other way it has a lot going...
  5. 2015 GTPP vs. Z28 vs. Hellcat

On another road course with longer straights, the Hellcat beat the Mustang GT by 0.44 seconds. With the A8 it's probably about a 4500 pound car. The thing is badass for what it's it, but what it is isn't a track car. As for getting three .8's in a row, that's not so statistically improbable to...
  6. 2015 GTPP vs. Z28 vs. Hellcat

"Just like you do here" Show me one example of me doing that. You can't because I don't. In fact, I've never said one bad thing about any member of this forum, ever. You essentially lied. "Kind of like the way you talk about Scat Challengers here all the time." I've never said anything...
  7. GT PP vs SS 1 LE vs R/T scat pack

I wish we'd start seeing quarter-mile times for the A8 Scat Pack.
  8. 2015 GTPP vs. Z28 vs. Hellcat

Informed? Obviously not. Define "reputable". A few of their regulars, who were actually claiming the Hellcat is in the same league with handling as the Ford GT. Want another example? Here...
  9. 2015 GTPP vs. Z28 vs. Hellcat

This is where you go wrong. You can't extrapolate time differences on a track and apply it to an entirely different track. Different bends, twists, angles and straights. The 1LE isn't even the same league on a road course the Z28.
  10. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

Your post suggested 586+ horsepower. 520, maybe a little over is entirely possible.
  11. 2015 GTPP vs. Z28 vs. Hellcat

On a tight course like that 3 seconds is an eternity. That isn't discounting that Ford DID do a great job on the Mustang GT (sans the styling IMO), but it's not even in the same league as the Z28, nor should it be expected to be. Suggesting otherwise is akin to members on ChallengerTalk who...
  12. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

Well said. Being extremely optimistic, lets say 375 ft/lbs @8000 RPM = 571 horsepower. That would be an insane torque curve. Realistically they're not going to blow way past 500 horsepower. I really don't like the way the Ford team elevates expectations beyond reality. Ford: "The 2015 Mustang...
  13. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

Huh? I didn't understand any of that.
  14. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

If peak torque is only 400 ft/lbs there's no way horsepower will be that high. The math just isn't there. Despite that I'm eagerly awaiting pricing, with the slim hopes it will be priced along the lines of the Boss.
  15. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

Does someone know if the peak torque is supposed be over 400 ft/lbs or exactly 400? If it peaks at 400 I don't expect a huge number beyond 500 horsepower. Nothing like Dodge announcing the Hellcat will be "over 600 horespower" and then dropping the 707 bomb. If the GT350 torque peaks at 400...
  16. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

It's a matter of math. Just throwing some hypothetical, but realistic numbers out there.... Just suppose peak HP is at 7500 RPM. If the engine is putting out 400 ft/lbs at 7500 RPM (which is peak torque for the 5.0 GT), that equals 571 horsepower.
  17. GT350 Investment Potential

You could say the same about coins and comic books but some sell for millions. It's more accurate to say the vast majority of new cars will never be collectible, but a select few will.
  18. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

With 8200 redline I'm predicting a lot more than 500 horsepower...
  19. Sour Challenger Owners on ChallengerTalk

There's no question the Mustang GT gives the most bang for the buck. Where the price gap closes (though not entirely) is when you start upgrading features and amenities. Options on the Mustang are more expensive. If you have the money and want a loaded car, the GT and Scat Pack aren't too far...
  20. Sour Challenger Owners on ChallengerTalk

I hate to label an entire forum based on the few, but for the most part you are correct. I have no brand loyalty and I've visited forums for Mustangs, Camaros and also ChallengerTalk, in order to get information on all three options. Pretty much anytime you express a dissenting opinion about...
