I don't believe the track attack vehicles are stock in this case. I haven't seen 10 cars run that well or equal not even track packs or R's.

I have literally seen track packs, techs and even R's fail, over heat, go into limp mode and more. I think it is car by car.
We asked, they claim they are. I asked about any major failures and was told "none"..... Who knows?

Kind of funny that their cars run, run, run, take abuse, get abused and run even better. Coincidence? Maybe those cars are taken care of exactly the way they should be? Correct break in, service, tuning, etc.? The guys who take care of them know what needs to be done to those cars.

While quite a few street driven gt350's of all models have various problems, quirks, issues, etc. That have seen major by any comparison.

Do things get manufactured correctly. Yes and no. That is why their is a warranty? Warranty is only good if it is honored and able to be used to repair those issues!

That is why it seems like I have no warranty even though I do. So far my car has been mechanically pretty good but other items have failed as well as cosmetics, fit, finish.

I personally know 7 guys and 1 girl who have dumped their gt350's because of major issues. Of the 8. 2 were R's, 2 Track packs and 4 Techs. So it seems their are problems across all models if they pop up. I do think there are more tech packs out there. Also of the 8. 1 was a 2017 lightning blue purchased locally and traded in with 330 miles and never was opened up, rodded etc. Same issue using oil like gas. Burning oil, smoke from exhaust, fuel in oil pan. No engine replacement, fix or buy back from dealer or ford. Did oil change and was traded on a 17 Vette. Reason this person bought their gt350 was because of me and my gt350. Are we still friends, yes but right now wounds are deep. Time should heal this?

Just call it luck of the draw? Or just QC all over the place?

My car has 1000 miles and I just checked the dipstick and the oil level is right at minimum. I was going to do my oil change this week anyways, however, should I be concerned?

Depends, obviously.. did you check it prior? Perhaps it was not quite filled initially? I would do an oil change and then monitor it over the next 1000 miles.

I never checked it:( I will do that and see what happens. I think after the first oil change at 1000 miles a second one at 3000 is a good idea because based on my experience the metal shavings dont fully clear and does take at least 2 and sometimes 3 full oil changes. I always do blackstone reports and thats what I have observed. I do one at 1000, then 3000, then finally at 7000 miles. Then after than its every 3000-4000 miles.

Does Ford have a complementary oil change for the first one for this car? Not that I will take advantage of it as I dont want to deal with the oil filter risk.

did my oil at 600, 1200, 3000, and every 3k after. Car uses typically under 1 quart per 3k miles. It used more when it was colder and I allowed it to warm up at idle too long. I believe oil use has something to do with how many of the hours of the engine are spent from 70-180 degrees. When I run more warmup cycles on quick trips it uses more, longer trips it uses much less.

Personally I would throw the "recommend interval" strategy out the window on these cars. I am changing the oil and filter on mine for the second time before storage, currently has around 2700 miles on it. Will change the oil again in the spring as a "flush" that is often used for high performance bike engines. I might only put 2000-3000 miles on mine per season, but will always change the oil before taking it out of storage, and prior to be stored in the fall. Will possibly change the oil mid-summer as well depending on mileage and how hard you are driving it. $100 and an hour of your time is very cheap insurance IMO for this kind of engine.

Blackstone is a great idea, will probably be sending mine for analysis as well.

Maybe I should do that as well. Plus its always fun.

I will change my oil this Thursday and then monitor is closely.

Maybe something to that....I recall some attending saying the car only had
16/30/70, etc. miles, so broke in on the track ?

When I attended Spring Mountain (corvette school) years ago, same question,
same answer, one failure over the years......stock cars except brake fluid.
Those cars are hammered on for thousands of miles and sold off without warranty.
I know someone who bought one of those cars, still running strong....

I'm not sure if they did or didn't do the test you are describing. I have been told by them that Ford has told them basically not to do anything to it.
...
call the dealership and ask them to give you the results of the leak down. If they refuse, they either did not do that, or they don't want to give you the data.

If each cylinder is at say 15% , then its not ideal, but not bad. Just give it a quart of oil every 900 miles. If any one cylinder is greater than 20%, then you are in rebuild / new engine territory. At least according to that mobile one posting. And you will have solid data to press for a warranty repair.

I'm supposed to talk to them tomorrow so I will ask. The more I think about it the more I am convinced they didn't do this test.

But, for me at least, it really doesn't matter. The problem isn't that they are denying me warranty coverage for a repair...........the problem is they DO NOT HAVE A FIX for this issue according to Ford's engineers. They keep reiterating that they hope to have one next spring and to just trust them that they will come up with one by then. :headbonk:

correct break in??? NO. At the first track attack, my car (#13) had 60 miles on it. We were told to drive it like we stole it. I asked if they were concerned about breaking the car in before using for the track and they didn't care. #13 is still running today based upon the track attack thread.

Leak down data will give you insight on what the issue is, and whether their wait until next spring line is legit.

Looks like your state has generous lemon law. My main concern would be that you wait until next Spring / summer, and they get your car into the shop and hold it for more than a month.

How many miles are on the car now?
Is oil usage increasing or about the same?

With such a high rpm engine, maybe they spec'd rings that aren't seating properly?

That is my big concern as well. Our driving season isn't the longest around here. Unless you get winters of course.
