I would being willing to pay more for that color (liquid blue). It is awesome!
DITTO! I saw the liquid blue in person on an R & visited a dealer the next day to see if they had info on a GT350. I'm really bummed the color is not available, it's almost exactly like the color of my very first car (30 yrs ago) which I painted black racing stripes on myself in Auto Shop. Liquid Blue w/ black stripes would have been perfect for me... DIB w/ black stripes will not look as good Imo. I wonder if liquid blue will eventually be available down the road,, I mean Ford has to realize by now how much people want it? Agree; for the extra time it takes charge extra like Mercedes does for White Diamond Metallic (tri coat), that color is even extra $ on AMGs. The picture attached of the liquid blue/black stripes is haunting me.

Do you guys have info on why I'm seeing both silver and red Shelby emblems? I noticed that w/ the GT350R the racing stripes are all going to be bordered by thinner red accent stripes, the GT350 has either white accent stripes or black. The R also is available w/ red interior stitching on the Recaros but not on the GT350 so will Rs get the Red Shelby logo, GT350s silver? GT350R - red stripes, red stitching, red logos as in Red signifying racing? Interesting enough the NYIAS R has black stripes accented by white w/ silver Shelby logos. Sorry if this has been covered already.... Great forum btw.

What Ford has said about the colors and what Ford has shown on their show cars is not the same. I would not put any faith in the show cars because we already know they were painted in colors that won't be available in order to convey a consistent "Ford Performance" look.

I believe what Ford has said is the following:
GT350:
- Silver/Chrome badges
- White accent stripes (not sure if cars with white stripes get a black accent)

GT350R
- Red badges
- Red brake calipers (I think I saw this in one of the interviews)
- Red accent stripes

Don't like the look of it AT ALL here in this lighting. DULL......Another outdoor angle you posted is much better. I'd have to see it in person to decide, but I like the DIB on the GT and whatever they call the blue on the LE. IF I were buying new I'd go with the black with matte black stripes and red pin stripes I think based on pics so far.

^ How is this Dull? Aside from being taken on what appears to be a cloudy day outdoors....it looks slippery and wet, which is what professional painters try to achieve.

The color provides a level of contrast where you see every line and curve.

Looks like the white balance is off in that pic. Has kind of a yellowish tinge to it.

These Cars (Esp the black one) look so amazing that the last few pics are making me wish for further attention to detail.

the car is being shown off, shiny and in full glory... and who forgot to armor-all the sidewalls? Really takes away from the full effect. That... and it appears Ford didn't feel like coating the entire wheel. You can see where the black coat stops. LAZY.

Sorry if this seems anal retentive, but I design and present for a living and this kind of thing just bothers me at this level.

Other than that, I am very excited for this car.

And thanks much for posting the pics!
This is just my opinion but this might be on purpose. This is meant to appeal to the racing crowd, who do not care too much about things like tire shine. I for one think that the tires look sexy without the shine. Function over form all day long

Trackaholic - Thanks. That they want to have a consistent Ford Performance look makes sense to me, I mean it makes for great posters. I'm not saying to offer the color across the Ford product line just the Performance Line. I mean by the second big show the Ford GT was being shown in silver paint that's not very consistent/ doesn't jive w/ their message about liquid blue. Ferrari can offer a most sacred color; Rosso Scuderia but Ford doesn't want some of it's best customers to have a certain color because they want it for themselves/marketing?Dunno, doesn't make much sense.

It's not like customers are asking to purchase a concept car, it's a paint color. Lamborghini, Mercedes charge extra for Matt paint. Vastly more time consuming yes but it's available and really interesting on some cars like the S63/65 Coupe, Aventador.. Liquid Blue looks like a multi-layer,tri- coat paint, a blue base w/ pearl, more time consuming ok, so charge extra. I'm sure the Gulf Blue/orange GT was time consuming too. You'd think Ford would want "Performance" division cars that actually "perform" as in driving on the road, track just as interesting as cars that are cordoned off show queens that can only be gawked at. To me it sounds more like a push off for now after all if they told everyone it would definitely be available down the road would a lot of folks hold off on orders till it was? I know I would. This wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer is quoted saying something won't be available only to see that very thing available shortly afterwards. In fact it wouldn't be the first time that a Ford show car color made its way to production.

Find this interesting :
"Mr. Ling, Ford’s North America Car Marketing Manager, told us that Liquid Blue is not a current production color but Ford has debuted the color here at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show and if the feedback is positive, the company will consider offering it on some of its performance vehicles."

I'd call the feedback more than positive, bet they didn't expect the amount of huge interest in the color.

I see what you're saying and I agree, the color itself looks blah to me there, it doesn't pop. Other than black which I usually like if its a glossy or metallic black, I like colors that pop on these types of cars. Just my opinion.

Yes but when a color pops you lose interest in the symmetry of the design and the lines and contours are lost. You are simply glowing over a color that hides the details rather than appreciating a color that actually celebrates all the detail.

Liquid Blue certainly pops. Its just not as overpowering as a grabber or Yellow or Simply reds...our eyes are geared more towards these colors, but they simply wash out the part of the visual that deserves our attention.

Its a personal rods Vs cones issue here.
