Ok, according to the Mustang brochure, you get illuminated sill plates with the GT Premium. That's what I have, but I don't see any illumination at those plates.

Is there something I need to do turn them on? There is no mention of them in the owner's manual. All my other ambient lighting works great. Car only has about 270 miles on it. Wondering if I need to head to dealer to get this checked out.

They should light up when you get in and out of the car, I'm guessing when your lights are on, haven't noticed if they light up all the time. But mine do at night when lights are on, you should also have the horse lit up on the ground by your doors...

Do you have the 50th anniversary package? Those sills don't light up apparently

you have the 50th Anniversary pkg from your sig. This means you don't get them.

Yep, that seems to be the case......50th pkg. I guess I get the idea of imitating the 65 sill plates, in a way. But it also seems like getting cheated of frill item on a car that is loaded with frill.

Can the Ford illuminated sill plates be added to a car with a 50th pkg?

I feel the same way. In retrospect I'm not sure I would have chosen this package. I love the seats insignia, the stitching, and the placard on the dash, but I hate that I don't have illuminated sills. Plus in time I'll probably change out the grill for a grill delete and am pretty indifferent about the faux gas cap and not a particular fan of the tail light bezel.

There was another thread where someone did it, but they did not change colors, were fixed at light blue.

You can but I'm pretty sure they don't change colors. So whatever color you buy you're stuck with unless you buy another set with a different color.

Not a bad option imo.

But I agree, you still should have gotten it from the get go.

See, I'm disappointed about the illuminated sills, but I simply could not imagine getting a 2015 Mustang without the coralled pony and the faux gascap. The package price was worth it for that alone.

I like the chrome on the tail light bezel, and I'm trying to think of places where it'd be possible to put more chrome trim on the exterior of the car (seriously, I LOVE chrome). Very happy with the package, just sucks about the door sills.

Darn jimmy, I like chrome too when used right.
DLO trim aka 50th LE looks really good. Gives it an upscale look like Aston, Acura, etc.

You'll get a good price for your grille. $950 from Ford!
