I literally had this decision and I picked the BULLITT.

I reasoned it as I can just buy a set of used PP2 wheels for 1300, Ford Performance handling pack for 1k, front lip for $250 and any rear spoiler I want, and have essentially a PP2 BULLITT for less than the price of properly repainting a PP2 DHG, and putting on an intake and TB.

The Power difference didn't influence me at all. The better IMO, front grill, green stitching and color did.

That said if DHG and green stitching were just a color option I'd probably have gotten the PP2.
If you don’t mind sharing, where did you find pp2 wheels for $1300?

I just don't get why so many people think a PP2 will not make a good daily driver. Put the Magneride in comfort mode (which is normal), and it will put you to sleep on the highway. Coming up to your favorite cloverleaf exit, flip it to track mode and take the exit at twice+ the posted speed limit (I have a 35 mph that is not even pushing the edge at 80 mph). Flip it back to sport, and play from light to light. What's not to like about that commute?
Odd...the folks who don't have one keep commenting on the negative and the folks with them say put another tire on the thing and drive.

Perhaps it is bias confirmation or perhaps the car is very well sorted with good tires and the folks who actually drive them love them.

I will say on VERY rough roads it is pretty awful to drive regardless of what mode. But I'm talking roads that are dug up for construction not normal wear and tear. I don't hold that against the car because on anything close to being a "normal" road the car is great.

Perhaps it is me being cautious (respectfully) of the HP but I've yet to get any tire spin on semi hard acceleration in 1st or 2nd gear. I don't know if it is the TC, the 305 tires, or just me not giving it enough gas but the thing just hooks and goes on the street. I haven't got on it in track mode to see how it carries on. I'm not one for beating on the car but at times I've expected some tire chirps and it's mute from the rear end.

Lots of good thoughts/replies!

I see tramlining mentioned a few times - is that REALLY an issue with a PP2 - meaning, does it occur often enough to affect drivability if used as a daily - OR does it only occur on badly crowned or ā€œruttedā€ highways and minor roads?
If you like to text, or eat ham sandwiches, or both, while driving, don't get a car with one foot wide front tires. The road will invariably have some input on your direction of travel unless it's in pretty good shape.

If you are engaged in your drive, and maintain proper focus on the road, it's not an issue. That said, I wouldn't take the Shiggy Challenge in a PP2! (Or personally in any vehicle )

I'd say it's a combination of all three. I can light them up in first if I want (t/c disabled of course). It will always chirp 2nd and 3rd if I'm on it very hard, and I'm not talking 50 degree weather either.

If you’re a cruiser and a cars and coffee kinda guy, I’d go for the Bullitt. If you prefer driving of the spirited variety and don’t mind (or even prefer in some cases) the shortcomings associated with such a car, go for the pp2.

Personally, I’d go pp2, no doubt.

No doubt. I'd buy a couple spares for $325 a piece.
Exactly. Sign me up!!

Maybe he means aftermarket lookalike pp2 wheels.
Ahhh, perhaps

@302@12psi your lack of tire spin is due to TC. If you have toggle modes, it's easy to tell when TC is cutting power, for instance, in a hairpin turn it's nearly impossible to induce throttle oversteer in normal mode, but in track mode, watch out.

I agree entirely. I picked mine up last Thanksgiving & have just under 10k miles on it now. I took it to GA (to get it lightly optioned by Steeda) & another trip to SoCal. And I will be off on another multi-state trip (+ Canada) this summer. It is an absolute kick-in-the-ass car to drive cross town or cross country. :sunglasses:

As for the tires, I sold the OE Michelins ASAP (29 miles on 'em) for $1,300. It paid for the new Continental Extreme Contact Sports (including mounting & balancing) + I upgraded the rears to 315 (v. the OE 305) w/a few $$$ left over for a Baskin Robbins banana split. :)

My one homage to the Bullitt was having the dealer install a Bullitt grille (after blacking out the chrome trim). :like:

Don't take this as 100%, but usually collector type cars (&, historically, the Bullitt Mustang has fallen into this category) do not fare well when modded too far from OE. Secondary market buyers tend to prefer an unmodified car (or one w/easily reversible mods). Whereas the PP2 market would respond more favorably to some well chosen, brand name, performance mods. Just my 2 cents ...

Is the PP2 package not available on the Bullitt Mustang ? I was considering getting a Bullitt with the PP2 option If I could.

Nope. Two totally different cars.

PP2, but I value handling. The Bullitt is purdy, but I hate the wheels and the extra HP barely even matches a 93oct tune. PP2 with E85 would be a wonderful rocket. If the wait wouldn't have been so much longer, I would own the PP2 now.
