Have a possibly itch.

2016 GT 33k MILES PP. Livernois tune, Steeda dual progressive lowering springs, stop the hop kit, Corsa full exhaust and longtube headers. Intake from Livernois. Upgraded clutch and MGW short throw Xspec.

Looking to possibly move to a GT350.

Not tracking the car. Not a daily just a toy car. Wife and I cruise around hot rod a little.

Other than the Voodoo engine and stigma of owning a GT350.

Thanks for any help. All mods installed by me so I could the same to the 350, just is it worth the money or keep GT and add some more to it? IE: supercharger

Do I gain anything?

Any chance to elaborate, maybe, please?
besides ball size, and panty dropping ability?

lol

on a more serious note, what are the odds you can ride and/or drive a 350 to help in your evaluation? 2016 GT was what, 435hp? The extra ~100hp is nothing to sneeze at 😉

Can't lie currently in Cancun. Was bored and drinking at the bar on the resort.

I will test drive a few when we get back to the states and go answer my own stupid question. ;)

Appreciate it guys...

I also wanted a GT350, but settled for a Bullitt....just couldn't anty up the $ at the time, well I decided to build a "poor boy's" GT350 by stuffing most of the Steeda catalog under it and last week it grew an ESS G3X with a G4 Intercooler setup and a Wingard tune so we are well into GT350 $ but I figure we are getting close to a "poor boy's" GT500....only put 50 miles on it since the supercharger installation but I'm smiling big time...

Sure, you can mod it to closely duplicate a GT350, but it will never sound like a Voodoo. So it depends on how much that Voodoo song is worth to you.

Not into 'weenie whistles' (turbocharger/supercharger) or 'laughing gas' (nitrous), but did spend 6+ hours on a chassis dyno some time back playing w/the programming on my PP2. And, at the end of the day, I still had 460 hp & 420 ft/lb of torque ... but now it was all at the rear wheels (as opposed to the flywheel). With less weight, almost the same torque & (420 v. 429), better traction & a decent driver (as opposed to moi), it would be interesting to match up w/a GT350 in a quarter mile.

C&D did a PP2/GT350 test some time back (2020) at Grattan Raceway. Braking & handling favored the PP2, but OA lap times went to the GT350. HOWEVER, the PP2 could only maintain that advantage for a few laps before the trans/diff coolers on the GT350 came into play.

The PP2's sole raison d'être was to fill a price gap between the GT & the GT350. It was never its own car, merely a GT 'option' (fewer than 2,300 sold). Sadly, Ford spent zero $$$ promoting it & the final (& proverbial) straw was the intro of the Mach 1.

For better or worse, I have reached that point in my life where 'flying under the radar' (literally & figuratively) is fun. And the PP2 does that for me.

FWIW, with the right mods, a GT is just as much fun as a voodoo and they can be as fast or faster through the twisties. GT has torque down low, and handling behavior is close to the same on each car (you'll get out what you put in). Voodoos sound better, but any GT with the right exhaust still sounds amazing and and better than 98% of cars out there.

On a track however, the top end power of the Voodoo is hard to replace *without a blower*

For me, the cost to benefit never added up to trading in my GT and paying a premium for 350.... until I spun a bearing on the GT's motor. Now with at least 15k to rebuild a strong motor, a Voodoo was starting to look more appealing.

What's the price difference between selling your car and buying a GT350? It it's $20-25k....I think that's terrible.

For sure it's a cooler, more unique car but it's a ton of money and you always have that 'what if this engine pops' hanging over your head.

I will say it's definitely fun to wipe the smug off a GT350 owners face when they don't realize you have a blower until you're running away from them on the highway...

Clean PP2, I definitely like the Bullitt grille setup, might have to get a pair of those for mine.

I went from an 18 GT PP1 A10 to a GT350R.....

My GT wasnt stock..... I absolutely loved that car.....

The 350 is just different.....I dont try to pretend that my old A10 car wouldnt have beaten my 350 7/10 times in a drag race- if drag racing is your thing.....I would never ever buy a 350....you might as well start comparing which car tows better if you are going to compare 1/4 mile times....

The reason people love the 350 so much is that intangible raw feeling the car gives you that when combined with the VooDoo just cant be replicated....

I have friends that play in the exotic car world...and its kind of like everyone wants the 2WD Huracans even though the AWD version is faster.... because the 2WD is just more raw.....

So if you are after pure numbers....tons of cars that are better then the GT350...... but if you are after optimizing that windows down Sunday morning drive through the canyons ...as good as the GT can be with the right parts.....and it can be REALLY REALLY good- the GT350 just bakes in that extra something special.....

That being said.....it took me a LONG time to make the move....as I said....I REALLY loved my PP1 and I wouldnt blame anyone that kept their GT......

Clean PP2, I definitely like the Bullitt grille setup, might have to get a pair of those for mine.

Even before I took delivery of the car (11/2018), I was looking for a different grille. I was initially hoping the bottom-line Mustangs might have one as part of cost cutting. No luck. Then I stumbled across a pre-production photo of the Bullitt & the heavens parted & my prayers were answered. If I recall, the dealer had to remove a lot of the front plastic to make it all work. And, of course, the chrome trim was blacked out. But, IMHO, it was all worth it!!!

One other 'advantage' of the Bullitt grille is that it visually makes the Mustang look lower & wider. The entire front end becomes the visual 'focal point' instead of the chrome horse.

Historically speaking, it's sumpin' that was done many moons ago. The very 1st Shelby GT350s had the '65 grille w/the large chrome insert. The insert was removed & a small chrome piece was used to cover the gap on the lower part of the grille.

One more piece of totally useless Mustang trivia ... this upcoming November will mark the 60th anniversary of the very 1st batch of Mustangs rec'd @ Shelby American from the San Jose (CA) assy plant.
