No, no it won't. Assuming that you stay within the limits of the minispare's ratings (speed, distance), you won't cause any undue damage to the Torsen. They are validated for this sort of thing, and have been used in applications with pretty extreme tire size differences. In said application, it was tested for 300+ miles at 65mph. You do generate a bit of heat, so if you do this, you might eventually cook the oil. But the differential won't see any real damage, especially if you keep the driveline torque low. Drive sensibly and all.

That said, it might behave a little, um, quirky when driving with it on the rear. The differential will direct more torque to the bigger tire, which would make the car want to yaw toward the minispare under acceleration.

Thanks for that info. I think this will be the least expensive option to have a reliable spare...and it will fit in the wheel well.
Ford dealer wants MSRP of $255. Anybody know where this can be purchased cheaper?

No, but you could do a front to back shuffle in a pinch. Not having a spare is a bit silly, IMHO. Fix-a-flat is great some of the time, but doesn't help if you have a gash in your sidewall or a broken belt. I think I'd want to find a spare solution, even if just for long trips.

I have PP wheels but have traded my rear tires for someone else's front tires so I have square setup 19x9 all around. Any of the 4 tires can fit on front now....which will allow me to take off a rear and put on front, put spare on rear if that is needed.
Thanks

do you recall what spacer the person you traded with uses to get his pp rear wheels to fit the fronts?

Finding a spare for mine is a priority too.

Back when I had my GT500, I got stranded for several hours on a hot Sunday afternoon after losing my right rear in a catastrophic, unexpected tire failure (Good Year F1s suck balls). All I could think after the tire flew to pieces and I wrestled the car to a stop and onto a road approach was, "Great, this car has no goddamn spare....."

I remedied that shortly afterward by buying a 18" spare from a Dodge Magnum and had a 1.5" spacer made to fit everything together (bolt circle is close, but slightly different, FYI). It cleared the '07 GT500 brakes just fine, and gave peace of mind. When I got rid of the car, I sold the setup to a GT500 forum member.

Wonder if that same setup would have fit the PP brakes. I'm tempted to try it again....

thanks, he responded to me, he says he used 1/4" spacers to get the PP rears to fit.

so getting the OEM spare from ford may be an option and if a flat occurs up front, you can just put the spare on a rear, move the rear to the front + spacer and can limp to a tire shop.

edit: reason for needing spacers, rear PP wheels sub on the strut if not used.
