Cool Video Nigel. Thanks for the reference.
DD should have supplied you with the replacement parking light globes. This was an after thought by them to eliminate the fast ticking on the dash. I'm assuming you did not receive them in your kit. Or did you get an earlier kit?
Yes you can just T tap to the opposite wires. Remember solder is better. Swapping the red and white in the pigtail plug is a bit cleaner IMO. Your DRLs need to be bright when your headlights (and parking lights are off) That's their objective. for safety. LEDs shouldn't burn out and they don't...
Yes it's the red and white that are incorrectly crossed. Here is a blurred photo I took when I installed mine. I think its after the swap. Actually it might have been before I swapped them. Anyhow just swap red and white.
Greetings from Oz. I did these over 5 years ago and they work fine today and offer the following;
DD supplied replacement parking light globes in my kit to prevent fast flashing on the dash board.
I left the original Drl light globes in and sealed up the plug with tape and silicone in case I...
If you are a DIY type then like me you can do it yourself. The hard bits are the front bumper and the entire hip area which includes over the windows. These have compound curves and require heating, stretching and shrinking. I hate joins. You may like to have the professionals do the bumper and...
If you smooth out the scratch, mask off and spray Matt black from a can then it should look perfect. If slightly different shade then do the passenger door the same. I have repaired much worse and cannot see the scratches anymore. It was not on the piece you are referring to though. I believe...
Yeah, just get someone to turn the headlights on and off while you watch. If the tribars dim when the headlights are on then you are all good. If not I found it easiest to swap the red and white wires around in the attached photo. Can't remember if I took this photo before or after I did the...
Way back when I did my tribars you had to swap 2 wires around in the new drl harness plug. The issue was that the tribars were supposed to be dimmed when the headlights were on and bright when the headlights were off. Unfortunately, the opposite occurred. I cannot tell from your photos if your...
I repaired a major scratch from a diamond ring on my rear side panel. I filled the 1mm deep scratch with black silicone. Then I sprayed clear coat from a distance. This made the clear coat go orange peel looking and matched the surface dimples of the plastic. Then I sprayed matt black paint...
Just saw your post mate. Glad I helped. I was in a real panic when I couldn't get my door handle in. I was too embarrassed to drive my new car to the dealership with no door handles.:cwl:
I like that wheel and I was going to get a set (I searched for 5 years) but my family talked me into getting a much more expensive brand (BC Forged). I think they (RFX 13) only come in 20 inch. Fitment Industries quote sizes as 10 inch et (offset) 22 front and 11 inch et 50 rear. I suggest you...
Made some DIY rear Mudflaps. Cost about $30. Made from 2mmthick hair cel plastic off ebay, 6mm stainless bolts (40mm and 80mm long) some pipe lagging from Bunnings (to stop dirt getting in behind), black screw caps and some 9mm scrivets.
My 2016 had both replaced under warranty. It's a shame your's lasted so long so you now pay the penalty. If it was a major cost you would probably be motivated to go to your Fair Trading department.
I did mine by myself, I could not get low cost large sheets like you can in the US. I used the cheap Chinese stuff. I did a perfect job on the fenders and hood front ( 2 feet wide strip) and almost perfect on the doors ( removed the side mirrors and door handles) and rear side panels behind the...
