Thanks for sharing all of this. I got all happy the other night when I saw your car pop up on my FB from lund. I was under the impression that someone had already tried this and still couldn't get past 500 by the way people talked on here about how 500+ wasn't possible. I honestly think I'd rather go N/A than boosted if we could all see this type of power with the same bolt-ons. To me N/A is just a lot less headache to deal with in the long run than with FI. Plus I only street/cruise my car.

Going off all of this, does anyone think that similar results could be had with the GT350 intake vs. the CJ?

No, the GT350 will not compare, you'd see better results with the Boss.

Thank you, Didn't even know Lund posted...

I was happy to share with the forum. I saw many post saying "how to" and not many people wanted to test the cams. Lund said it could be done, Beefcake said the cams would help... and Brandon Alsept convinced me.
Being the test mule wasn't bad. If I wouldn't have hit 500, I would have been really upset though.

I don't think so.... but I was told I couldn't do it also.

I was thinking something similar though with the E85 vs 93 octane. Wonder how many changes contributed to the success. They have E85 but it isn't exactly wide spread out here.

Overall, the recipe has been published and confirmed. From here, I can see folks coming out with their own versions. May not get 500RWHP but I bet it will be in the close neighborhood.

We hit 514 with 93 pump gas. Lund stated on flex fuel you won't gain a huge amount on NA car if your seeing good timing on pump gas. I think the E85 helps more for those seeing knock on lesser quality of fuels.

While I do believe the CJ will out perform the gt350 IM to some degree I do not believe any testing has proved the boss will do better. Quite the contrary the boss was the least power making intake mani of the 3. I also don't believe it will be more then 15whp between the gt350 and CJ but time will tell. I plan on trying the comp stage 3's with my setup before going to CJ to see. I would love to see any proof that a boss out performs the gt350 IM when properly tuned.

Ill take a boss manifold with some proper VCT tuning over a GT350 intake manifold. The GT350 intake manifold actually loses power in the lower RPM range. Plenty of dyno charts of this on here. Just have to look.

High rpm flow would be very close - I think ~10 hp less is doable without any problems.

Everyone who keeps trying to discredit the GT350IM needs to remember it was developed for a larger engine with better heads and cams. It has been proven to be a decent upgrade and barely loses to the Cobrajet which has a way bigger TB. I'm guessing when a new TB upgrade comes out for it, the minimal gap will close even further. It's definitely a better all around upgrade over the boss as that IM loses too much torque. When my blazer gets finished and the GT can stay in the garage I plan to do heads and cams with this inferior IM and I'm sure it will do just fine. Hopefully that is fairly soon but the blazer needs a lot of TLC.

Do you know of any GT350 that have done a cobra jet swap? I know most tuners are saying they gain alot from VCT, but an intake swap That would be interesting for comparison.

Where are you seeing the GT350 losing power down low? When people first started testing it, Yea there was issues. But it loses nothing down low over stock. My car is faster all round with the GT350 mani and TB. The throttle is a tad touchy, but its easy to overcome.

Edit, it was AED tuning, they gained 11hp peak over the GT350 and 30ish at 7700rpm

It won't fit under the hood. You cannot lower the engine due to K member clearance on the GT350. I'm sure it's a better overall N/A performer but I wanted to retain my strutbar and not hack my hood. Several members dynos have them close or the CJ by 8hp. I'm not spending the cash to upgrade for 8hp.
