Hey y’all.

This may sound unusual to some, but my glove box seems to accumulate dust excessively, almost as if it’s drawing it in like a vacuum. I’m unsure of the source or how it’s entering the compartment.

I keep clean it regularly. I haven’t been able to identify the cause. I rarely open the windows, and the rest of the interior remains quite clean—this issue appears to be isolated to the glove box. I would appreciate any insight or guidance on what might be causing this.

The cabin filter sits behind your glove box. It might need to be changed. Also, if it’s not installed properly, it could let in excess dust and stuff, some of which would end up in your glove box.

Thanks for replying.

Could the issue be caused by the K&N filter that’s the only thing I could think of. The filter installed properly.

It might be letting a little more dust through. I have an aftermarket cabin filter in my car but I don’t have a dust issue. Depending on how many miles it’s been since you cleaned that filter, it may be time to clean it.

I’ve been using K&N cabin filter for the past several years with no problems and was cleaned last May.

Are you sure that you got the door completely attached properly? Not doubting you but I remember it being a royal pita to get the door seated. If it's got even a little gap there's going to be air blowing out.
Another thought might be one of the dash air ducts with a hole or loose joint.

Yea, it is a pita to seat it.

The cabin filter is a YUGE PITA. Pull it out and check the condition and fitment. Make sure the door is sealed properly when it's been replaced/cleaned. If you have a coupe, grab a HEPA-rated filter.

Noooo, those are Camaro RS and SS particles…they tend to accumulate when dusting the afore mentioned vehicles while dropping them off at Gapplebees, enjoy the burnt hair smell 😬
