Getting OLD SUCKS!!!

So I went to the dermatologist in late March. They checked out my moles etc. and biopsied one on my chest. She also saw what I have been told since I was a kid was a birthmark on the arch of my left foot. I told her it had been looked at many times and was told it was nothing to worry about...it's just a birthmark. She took a pic of it and sent it off to have her partner look at it. 3 days later I get a call saying I'd better be safe than sorry and to come in and get it biopsied as well. 2 weeks later I get a call from her saying....there's good and bad news. The bad.....It's Melanoma....the good.....it hasn't spread. So since April 1st......3 surgeries.....one skin graft and I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY MACh1 in almost 2 1/2 MONTHS!!! I got the stiches removed last week and should be able to walk without crutches June 15th! My wife's GT/CS convert is nice, but I miss the left foot thingy !!!

First of all OUCH!!!!! 2nd, I do understand, at 67 I cant move without getting bruises, cuts and scrapes by doing the simplest things, 3rd, it does beat the alternative. So I truly hope you get better soon and that this is the end of your woes for a long long time.

Meh, I dunno…I for one, am looking forward to being the old guy that can get away with just about* anything

*holes in the foot not included…your mileage may vary, shake well before using and do not leave in direct sunlight.

I can relate to not being able to drive the manual. I had L4-S1 discs replaced. and now I have some aftermarket titanium parts in my back. Problem is, I still have reduced feeling in my left foot. Makes it difficult to use the clutch. I hold out some hope that it will improve, but if not, an automatic will be in my future.

Yes, getting old sucks. And as someone already said: It beats the alternative!!
I've had a round or 2 with Big C. They let my wife into the room before they closed up the golf ball sized hole in the side of my head. No pictures, but I will not forget the look on her face.

op sorry for your pain im ancient {82 this yr} and got a screw in my foot i felt a bit of pain but couldnt see/feel the actual screw,
i kept working on the hotrod as we had a charity car show coming soon
i walked around for 8 days with a bit of pain in foot i started getting cold then hot and not eating
Michelle ended up taking me to hospital where they put me in a chopper with a drip in each arm for antibiotics i had sepsis
Arriving at the major hospital around 1am they cut into my foot and cut off 2 toes the same morning they removed the other 3 toes plus some of my foot
i could go on but dont want to bore people moral of story DONT IGNORE THINGS LIKE THISAS YOU GET OLDER

Being young comes with baggage, and being old comes with baggage . I'm glad I'm the age I am , because being young and having old baggage plus raising a family , working etc. would be very stressful. Being old with young baggage would not be favorable, so I'll keep my baggage , enjoy everyday and hope my luggage lasts a bit longer. Heal up Todd .
