| I believe he is referring to the sensor /actuator, whatever the technical name is that restricts oil psi at certain lower rpms . iirc under 2,000 on the gen 3's | ||||||
Where/how is it turned off? I hate how low it goes when it is warm at idle.It looks like the variable feature can be turned off, and let the oil pump run wide open at all times as it does in Gen 1 and 2. Is there any drawback to doing this?
(Besides the .00001 mpg hit)
In PCMTEC, there is auF60257. Selecting a 1 indicates the bleed off hardware is present. Selecting a 0 would allow full pump pressure at all times, like Gen 1 and 2. Just that I didn't see much info on it. I would not be happy to lose a motor because this thing bled off too much oil pressure.Where/how is it turned off? That doesn't seem to be the case on my 2022 M1.IIRC the mach1 has variable oil pump switched off in the stock tune, meaning the valve stays closed.
I just checked 3 different Mach1s in both hpt and pcmtech and all 3 have it turned off. Let me know your OSID or Strategy and I can look up yours. That doesn't seem to be the case on my 2022 M1.

Just FYI, the oil pressure will still fall at idle even with the bypass closed, but it falls a lot more with variable oil pressure.
It’s the 6c880 part but I don’t think gen2 has it.Maybe a dumb question, but how exactly is this controlled? Where is the valve?
It doesn't, but my new short block is a Gen 3, but it looks like it came with an oil filter adapter that does not have provisions for that solenoid. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. It’s the 6c880 part but I don’t think gen2 has it.
