Has anyone tried 3.91 gears, that's a 2 step change from 3.55

Or should I not worry about highway mpg, driving 75mph is 2300 rpm with 4.09?

It auto corrects the spedo right?

Couldn't I also use forscan?
You don't need to do anything for the speedo. I'm an auto and had a 3.55 Torsen swapped in. Didn't do anything to my tune or computer. I had 3.15 gears prior.

Ok first off the ford power pack will not void any warranty as long as ford installed it.

Second there are many handhelds that can correct the gear size that is programmed to the pcm then the speedometer will correct automatically.
Third the power pack is more than just a tune and it is not a tuner. Are you talking about power pack 1 or 2?
Fourth gears will void part of your warranty use more fuel and definitely requires professional installation.
You said that you live in a emissions area. What does that have to do with your question?
My opinion with what little information I have is the power pack if you want to keep your warranty and a aftermarket tune if you don’t care.
E85 if you have it available is a good power adder but your fuel mileage will drop about 30% and it’s not 30% cheaper. Water meth injection will do the same as e85 without a drop in mileage and you can order it almost everywhere

Thanks for your response.
Ford performance gears installed by ford doesn't alter power train. Ford hasnt released the 18+ packs yet but I can't see how ford is going to get more than 25/20 numbers with 93. Gears installed vs ford tune/tb/cai? Installed (correct me if I'm wrong) by ford as required for warranty, will be a wash price wise.
Aftermarket tune is out.
I have 3 cars that I have to swap stuff out every year for emissions, compete dive cycles and I'm tired of it. So it's gears or ford tune/pack.

I've been driving around for the last month not using 6th, my mpgs are nearly identical. 75 is 2400 rpm/23.5 mpg, 78 in 6th is 2125 rpm 23.2 mpg.
4.09 gears is 75 is theoretically 2250, so right in between 5th and 6th. Over 80 in 5th(2700rpm) really starts to show mpg loss.

I've graphed 2017 pp1 with 3.73, the rpm/mph is identical to 2018+ with 4.09 and 305/35r20. The lighter colors in the graph are actually observations, 40 degrees, flat land 20 miles for each rpm/mph point.

How do you like the 3.55 compared to the 3.15. I have 3.15 in my gt and was considering 3.31

2018 m6 non pp, (3.55) gears. Current tires are 28.7 tall, which effectively puts any gearing down 1 size.

I have already done suspension upgrades, exhaust, rims and tires and I live in a emissions control area. I have no interest in ever going FI.

I am debating waiting for the ford performance 2018 power pack??? or swap to 4.09 gears. I don't see how the 18+ powerpack would deliver more gains than any other tuner, less probably for safety. To me, the gains are not sufficient enough to end my extended warranty for other tuners.
Go with a Lund Racing or Palm Beach Dyno tune. It's the best bang for you buck for performance. I can hook you up on a Ngauge and tune combo here at @LethalPerformance! Shoot me a message and i'll take good care of you! #TEAMLETHAL!

Love it. It's perfect. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to hook up due to the fact that auto trans already has a short 1st gear, but it didn't affect that at all. Just generally more fun to drive to me personally.
I do now understand though why 3.15s are in the base car. 3.55 is definitely more of a "performance" gear.

Now I'm certain I could have done 3.73s and still hook up, but honestly 3.73 for the auto is a bit much and 3.55 is probably the goldilocks gear ratio for the automatics.
