I'm fairly sure it isn't noise from the sound tube. I've been driving Capri's long enough to know what a gearbox whine sounds like lmao
Just checking.

I'd never driven a car with fake noise before so was a little bit confused on the first couple of drives until I realised what it was.

Kinda got used to it now so might hold off on the planned removal of said tube.

Just going to throw this out there but... private plates are for :censored: heads... lol
Guilty. But mine is V8 plus my initials, which I think is a bit more respectable. I got it 15 years ago, knowing one day I'd have a Mustang to put it on.

P.S. lot of whining on here for a gearbox noise thread :)

Car would then be registered as a 65 and you are not allowed to use a private plate to make a car look newer than it is so it could not go on.

Centurion07 Wants it on 2016 plates, doesn't want it on 2015 plates obviously, some people resale wise are 'big dodo brains' and have a habbit of seeing the plate and losing interest. (because it's not a newer plate)
Surely when selling you'd just say "registered 2016"?

Have to admit I'm not quite as keen as I was on the plate I bought for mine but have yet to register (MU57 XXX). Those are X's, I'm not being secretive!

Off topic but ST16 MUS was still available a couple of days ago.
I looked at these kinds of plates, but you end up spelling things like STIGMUS which sounds like some sort of fungal disease.

I've never been a 'private plate man' myself but thought I'd get one for the Mustang. When you're waiting a year, you find yourself spending money on all sorts of crap. Its Mustang related (rather than my name) and relatively subtle (right amount of characters and correct spacing), but it's been called "cheesy" and find my missus apologising for it on my behalf. Also get people rudely asking "how much was the plate", just so they can scoff about the 'waste of money'/'more money than sense' I presume. Most people do seem to agree that they are for knobheads. Oh well, if the hat fits!

Lets face it, same goes for most mods (cosmetic enhancements, loud exhausts etc.) as well.

Could be worse, could be looking at F1 plates, find F15 TEM (F1 5TE M that's F1 STE M (So short for Stephen/Steve=Ste, M=My surname) looks like 'Fist em/Fist Me' no thanks lol!

Who cares, people will talk sh1t all the time, let them, then watch them drive off in their sh1tty cars and go home to their sh1tty homes with their sh1tty wives and... yeah i digress, people get jealous.

SSC the fact you even have a Mac P1 near you and haven't even acted excited in your post is mad, holy fuarkkkkkkk how rare :O

Gearbox? What gearbox, thread hijacked for plates now

Same here, don't find myself looking at my plate and feeling it makes the car look better in any way.

"MU57 ANG" would be the one to have, but I recall this went long ago for ÂŁ10,000.

That would be so hateful having to wait that long. I got VE16 HTT for my private plate, car won't be delivered till May so no wait at the dealership for me.
