So, this weekend I went to play a bit with my Stang. However, I ran into some issues when trying to fully disable TC and AdvanceTrac to try a few 0-60 runs.

From what I read before (with premiums) you first toggle TC OFF by toggling the switch, you then hold it for an additional 5-8 seconds to fully disable AdvanceTrac. However, holding the button immediately after first disabling TC or releasing then hitting the toggle again and holding for 5 seconds, I never got the 2nd confirmation that advance track was disabled.

As a matter of fact, in one of those occasions when I re-enabled TC by mistake after holding the switch, I could no longer disable TC with subsequent toggles of the switch (TC would only show as OFF if I flipped to track mode). I had to shut off the engine, wait a few seconds and then I could again toggle TC OFF in normal or sport modes.

Any suggestions, how do you guys do it?

Don't release it.

1st try, hold for 5-8 seconds and you are golden.

Can someone fill me in exactly what turning off advance trac does?

Thanks, I'll have to give it a try again. I probably ran into the issue due to disabling and then, trying to hold for a while.

It allows you to fly off the road and into a ditch easier.
Haha, yes... Find a safe location with plenty of space to play around. I also left the longest tire marks ever (for me anyway) Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of them, but I got some good shots of my EBM and a friend's WRX :p

It allows you to do doghnuts and general hooliganism type stuff.

I would never drive / particularly drive fast with it off. Sport + mode is a good compramise for this.

I drive in track mode only but on the road leave advancetrac on. Seems completely dumb to turn it off and if you're drag racing somebody (like the WRX on the pic) it should not slow you down but may save from going into the ditch.

The goal is 0-60's with plenty of room... Not to race, uncontrolled spinning of your wheels & yawing isn't the fastest either way. Also, I don't think I'd ever turn TC off on the street. Even Sport+ is sometimes too aggressive (AT shift points).

TC comes off with track mode. Adancetrac which is stability control is only adjusted by the moves but does not come until you hold the switch for 7 second.

Default at every start-up:
- Traction Control On
- Stability Control On

Single tap: "Traction Control Off"
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control On

Double Tap: "AdvancTrac Sport Mode"
- Traction Control Reduced
- Stability Control Reduced

Press & Hold: "AdvancTrac Off" (e.g. Track Mode)
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control Off

AdvancTrac helps to maintain control of your vehicle on slippery surfaces using Traction Control and Stability Control by applying brakes to individual wheels and reducing engine power.

Traction control helps to avoid drive wheel spin and loss of traction.

Stability control helps avoid skids and lateral slides.

On a Base Mustang, this is all completely independent of the steering setting.
