Anyone replace their fuel tank in an S550? If so how much of a PITA was it? Debating doing it myself vs paying a shop.

I pulled my tank to install a fuel system and honestly didn't think it was that bad. I did it with quickjacks on my garage floor. As long as the tank is close to empty, coming out was really easy. Going back in was a bit of a pain. You do have to drop the driveshaft and exhaust though.Anyone replace their fuel tank in an S550? If so how much of a PITA was it? I used JBWeld back in 1972 in the rust belt on the bottom of a steel gas tank to seal multiple pin holes. It lasted 3 years for me.If the damage or hole is small enough - why not use a product like this first - before spending hundreds of dollars and the labor time?

There’s also other similar products on the market for fuel tank repair…
That is a bummer, OP. For others who may want to cut out their resonator, I used this Gear Wrench exhaust and tail pipe cutter and it cut through the pipes in maybe 3 minutes on each side. Super easy and fairly clean cuts. Thanks guys! My dumb ass hit it with the sawzall when cutting out my resonator to install an h pipe. a little tiny hole barely dripping. Anyhow, no lift and my old ass doesn’t feel like rolling around under it for 2-3 hours. Taking it to a local shop now.
