I'm running 19x11 inch rears with 305's and on the front I put my stock PP 275 tires and rims . I drove it and had a rub when making a tight turn. I had 25m spacers laying around so threw them on and problem solved. I've since discovered that all I needed was 10mm spacers. Question is will the 25 `s cause any type of adverse handling issues? Thanks in advance for the help.

That really surprises me, I run 275/35r20’s squared with +35 offset and I have never had any rubbing. What is the offset on the pp wheels?

Not sure but these are 275/40 /19.
Ok, offsets make all the difference, wider rear rims usually have a more positive offset, that brings the wheel closer to the strut (in front) and could easily cause rubbing issues. Guys run 285/35 19”s and 20”s with no rubbing issues with +35 - +40 offset in front. Your camber could be really off as well, if you lowered your car at all, camber bolts or plates could be necessary.

I changed shocks, struts and springs last summer. Went with Ford Racing Track shocks and struts with Steeda linear springs. I had the alignment done about three days later. So I'm assuming all is well in that area. Thanks for the information.

Thinking you were getting the rub because you had the rear pp wheels put on the front. I had pp wheels and they were 245/40/19 on the fronts and 275/40/19 on the rears. The offset on the rears I believe was 52.5, 45 on the fronts.

I don’t run spacers personally but there are a lot of guys here who use the hubcentric ones with no issues.

Wow, if the rears wheels are really +52.5 that would definitely be too much off set for the front. The OP would be better off with some wider factory replicas with +35 - +40, that would be more appropriate.

I wrote the original post and thanks for all the information. I'm running 19x11 inch pp style rears from American Muscle so I'm going to order a pair of pp style fronts in 9 1/2 inch and remount my 275's on them and remove the 25mm hubsentric spacers. I'm guessing that should work?

That should be perfect, like I mentioned earlier I am running 275/35r20’s on 9.5” wheels with a +35 offset and I have about 1/3” between the tire and the strut with 0 rub 👍

Widening your front track will cause your vehicle to feel like it has more front grip. Widening the front track should increase oversteer or a feel of looseness in a corner at limit for a given tire. I’m referencing Steeda’s information on their road race K member and adjustable lateral link positions. That being said switching from a wider tire to a more narrow tire may not increase your front grip so as long as it’s not rubbing, you should be fine. I prefer hubcentric. spacers with extended studs and not bolting a spacer onto your existing hub, but everybody has their preference.

Thanks. I'm ordering today.
