Today the car was sitting outside work parking lot with a lot of wind and a snow storm. It was way below freezing temps. The passenger door didnt open, driver door was able to even though it was iced up. I have couple of questions. Since we have no window frame when the window doesnt go down due to frost is it still ok to open the door ? After warming up the car for about 10 minutes the front tires were locked and the back end started swinging like i was in the line lock mode. After a few tries including putting it in reverse and all, the car started moving with ice shattering noises lol. Something was frozen pretty bad either the brembos or the wheels themselves. This never happened to me before. The car has Blizzack LM 32's on all corners so it sticks to the ground like a glue. Anyone had an experience like this before? Thanks.

I'm in Skokie right now, and my car (2011 Mustang) is out on the north side of the building with driver's side facing west. Can't wait to go out and de-ice it when I leave at 8:30 !!

I made a simple hook tool out of a piece of 1/8" HDPE plastic that I slide between the glass & W/S when it is froze up. Door always will open when frozen, just not real good to close this way. I leave my little tool between the floor mat & inner rocker and a quick swipe between glass & W/S, and the glass will then drop down.

Took pics of my tool and how it is used, but don't have them on my work computer or thumb drive to post right now.

Likely the brakes that were frozen. I've had the windows completely iced up on me 2011 more than a dozen times and no damage as a result, you'll be fine.

I live in a rainforest north of Cairns in Australia. What is all that white stuff on the ground??:p

34C here today, and a bit muggy. Trying to sleep, as I am working nights the next few shifts.

Enjoy your winter.

Hey. I've been there. Daintree, correct? Stayed at a place up in the rain forest. Walked down to a nice beach. No resorts hanging off of it. Neat little road side fish n chips joint where I sat and ate and talked to travelers form all over Aussie and the world. Met a hot chick from Sweden and that is a story for another thread or board lol.

Use silicone lubricant for the doors. They won't freeze up if you spray the top and bottom.

Close, but I am between the Daintree river, and Cairns. I work up on the tablelands, and get to drive up and down the range on my commute. My wife won't let me meet any hot chicks, but then I am over 50, and bald, so not much chance of that happening anyways.

I have lived all over from the Caribbean to Australia, and this is where I feel most at home. Great place to live, and raise kids.

Can't wait until they sell the GT here.

Where mosquitos have to register their flight plans with the FAA.
Haha I don't have any near the coast but more inland is where it gets bad.

Now Minnesota - their mosquitos are like small birds.

I remember crossing the river. Isn't that where the cable ferry is at? We saw a croc while on the ferry. We went a little farther on up if I'm not mistaken. It was about 10 years ago or so do some of the details gave gotten foggy. I was only 28 at the time.
