One dumb added bonus was the front license plate bracket actually saved my bumper from damage when street parking in the city and someone backed in too close to my car and made contact with my front license plate and bracket, the only damage was some cracking in the bracket plastic corners but the bumper was still intact :p

Thanks for the reply's and info. I went with one of Craig's Custom Mounts. I'm curious how it's going to attach to the bumper of my '19 since there isn't a whole lot of underside to the front bumper.

The bracket is really small but holds well. Here is a pic from my 15 EB. I was taking it off as I no longer needed it.

If you don't mind the possibility of a fix it ticket don't drill. Drilled bumpers have killed deals for me.

I'm not really certain what it is when we talk of worrying about a "fix it" ticket. There might have been a recent change for California dwellers; I think I remember reading that a loud exhaust "fix it" ticket will no longer require just correcting the condition and demonstrating it to the Law Enforcement Community, it will include a substantial fine, like $275.00. Not that I would worry about such a puny amount of money, it might go on your permanent record and result in enhancements for future punishments.

I made my own, only had to buy spacers and screws. Made a bracket from scrap aluminum.

If you need a front plate, then get one on there by whatever method you choose. AS a person Formerly associated with Law enforcement, a great number of people ( felons, Drug transporters, etc) are caught when they are stopped for traffic and equipment violations ( lights out, No plates or expired)
Well said not to mention the risk of innocently going to lets say Chili's and having a couple of beers and then after driving perfectly you get pulled over for a missing front plate! Then the cop asks " Have you had anything to drink?" Then you say just a couple of beers! Possible DWI that could have easily been avoided. Just sayin' ...........

And you could always use the old "I was in a car show over the weekend and I forgot to put it back on". Let me just fix that right now officer. Thanks for pointing it out.

That has to be the most common excuse for (insert nice car) owners who have flipper or similar plates....

...right along with

It't ain't mine

I swear on my mommas bible

OK guys, I have a Bentley Continental Supersports and had this plate issue come up. I took the bracket that came with the car and studied it for like 3 minutes. Went in my garage and got some automotive grade 3M double stick tape, lined the back of the bracket and stuck it on my front bumper. Its that thick 3M tape and I dare anyone to try to pull that bracket off my bumper without a heat gun! But when the time comes, whip out the heat gun and WALA no holes and a pristine bumper! Don't underestimate the hold of that automotive grade tape. Also when I get my 2020 GT500 I am going to install a plate just like the one on my profile pic. Uses the existing bolt holes under the front splitter . Anybody that drills holes in the "blacked" out mid bumper to install their plate should have their head examined!

+1 for 3M tape - this photo was taken a year and 9 days ago, still holding strong and looks great. Probably been through a couple dozen car washes as well:

Listen to the experts; do NOT drill the bumper. If you look real close you'll see two small "dimples" where they suggest you drill. Even my salesman said not to do it. The hide-a way bracket cost $50. I paid the Ford body shop to mount it because I was afraid of drilling into a wire or something. Turns out nothing was there but I had them swap out my chrome Pony for a black one. They charged me $150. Well spent IMHO but I've lost my desire for wrench spinning as I get older.
