Difficulty is in the eye of the wrenchholder.

I didn’t think it was very hard.
I understand that, So for those that do engine swaps for fun, this is cake. I am guessing pulling the nose cone(bumper cover)

Actually no, took the belly pan off and went in from underneath. You just need to get to the back of the crash bar on the passenger side.

Save your money, install the ford bracket using 3m trim/badge double sided tape. no need for screws through the bumper cover. no need for an over priced fancy bracket either.
This is a fantastic idea!

I ordered the Craig's bracket over the weekend, so let me get it into my hands. If I don't like it (for whatever reason), I'll return it and try your method.

Nothing against the fancy brackets, They work and have their place, I have a motorized one on another car.
But to be fair, that car saw alot of use doing things you don't want your place seen, on road while the city sleeps in the early 2000's -2010's .
So the front plate that rolled under the front bumper was a nice match to spring loaded rear one the factory was nice enough to make standard equipment That a swap from the correct part # to the b body part # it stay down till you lifted it back closed. .
